Hello @lcfx_lain
We have raised this issue internally and hopefully should have a fix for the same soon.
In the meantime, I would recommend turning off mwac and installing Malwarebytes BrowserGuard: https://www.malwarebytes.com/browserguard/
Sorry you ran into the issue and thank you for letting us know.
Thanks, I've done that already, please let me know if you have any news about a fix for my BSOD.

3 days with Web Protection = off > No more BSOD. Maybe some new update in MB is causing it again?

Testing without any problem so far ... I'll let you know if something happens

Offtopic:
MB should implement an option like "hide notifications from selected programs", so, still blocking potential dangerous IPs but not spamming notifications all the time (I dont want to turn off notifications for everything, only selected programs)
Ontopic: " Is there a way to go back to the prior component package, for the time being, until your techs have a perm fix"
I'm still using that version, without updating CV, only PV , and web protection on, still waiting for the fix on a new version.

MB support team answered me this ... So they are having a really hard time fixing this new "Web protection driver", and we are suffering different bugs in the meantime:
Thank you very much! 🙂
I see what's happening here. We changed our web protection driver and it seems to be causing this. Until they have the time to work on this particular issue and fix it, you'll either have to keep web protection off or I can send you the installer for the version of Malwarebytes that has the previous web protection driver.
If you opt for the latter, I'll place this ticket On Hold and reach out to you when it has been fixed. You can download the previous version from LINK
Once it has been installed, quickly open Settings > General Tab and turn off Application Updates so it doesn't bring you back to this version.
Please let me know which you've decide to do.
Best Regards,They added:
Hello
It's not the version 4.04, it's the Component Package version. The new web protection driver was introduced in 1.0.804. The installer I linked you to is the 4.0.4 just before that - Component Package version 1.0.750
Did you want to give that a try?https://malwarebytes.app.box.com/s/z6cravnwptrzx5tyjw36jq6zt6c7apsx

CV Version is the old one, but Update Package Version is still updating, maybe someone here can explain what are we loosing using this workaround.
-
You can Disable/Enable Web Protection, or run a specific version of MB without updating "CV", there is no fix yet ...
This is a video of the distorted sound, Are you experiencing something like that? (Feb 19 OMG, 2 months waiting for a fix)
-
Still using an old CV of MB (suggested by the MB Support Team), everything is working OK ... Any news about the fix on newer versions?

Well, after some days without any trouble, today I suffered again this horrible bug ... Turning off "Web Protection" fixed it like always.
-
New version 4.1.0.56, testing with all modules "on".
-
Thanks, I didn't know, where can I read the change log? (I'm checking if the bug still occurs with every new update)
Offtopic: Nice!, Dark mode

Still happening:
-
Thank you! In my case, the stuttering and sound glitches starts really small, but then after some hours of using my PC and watching web videos / local series my PC becomes unusable (Sound and GUI) ... Turning Web Protection off is the only solution for now.

Another update.
I have now gone 4 days with web protection enabled and with the Nvidia HD audio drivers disabled and I have not experienced the problem. As I mentioned earlier, the problem sometimes doesn't manifest itself for days so I'm still waiting to see if it happens. I'll get back with another update next week or when it happens (if it does).
Bill
Hey, can I ask if your problem is like this? (I have Realtek Audio + AMD HDAD instead of nvidia)
-
Updated network drivers and Malwarebytes, still happening, waiting for a fix.
-
Done, i will wait for a fix ...
Meanwhile ... Can you move back this thread here? https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/41-malwarebytes-for-windows-support-forum/
My problem is about Malwarebytes, not a malware detection by the software ... And other people are suffering similar errors there (and the fix is disabling Web Protection)
-
Same problem here, tried after recent update, but sound still stutters after some time running Web Protection on ...
-
I tried that before, same result:
-
You can hear the glitches and see my mouse pointer stuttering, then, after turning off web protection, everything is working fine
