  1. Thank you. I don't know how I missed that, right at the top of the MBAM Windows Support forum. I'll do the uninstall/reinstall tonight and let you know if that clears up the issues.
  2. Hi, @Porthos. Thank you for the speedy response. Before I do the uninstall and reinstall/upgrade to v.4.1.0, could you please point me to more info about v.4.1? I don't see any release notes for it on the Product Lifecycle page. I typically don't upgrade to new versions of anything until they've been out for a week or so, so any initial unforeseen kinks/bugs can get worked out before I put the new version on my computer. (Nothing against MBAM specifically; I do this with all software and Windows updates unless it's an absolutely critical security patch.)
  3. I'm running MBAM Premium v.4.04.49, update package v.1.0.20164, component package v.1.0.823 on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Every since I upgraded MBAM in January from v.3.8.3 to v.4.0, my system has been having issues with certain Windows Services continually being disabled, as well as with my wireless connection intermittently crashing with the error "doesn't have a valid IP configuration." I never had any of these issues prior to upgrading to MBAM 4.0, and the issues with Windows Services began the day after I upgraded. The crashing of the wireless connection started up in the past 2 weeks or so and has become increasingly frequent. Boot-up time has also become incredibly long. These are the specific issues I'm encountering: Some Windows Services disabled on startup: The first night after I upgraded to MBAM 4.0 (back in January), when the nightly scan started running, my audio service crashed. I shut down my computer that night and when I booted up the next morning, the Windows Aero theme and the audio service had both been disabled. I had to restart the Themes services, the Desktop Window Manager service, and the audio service. I didn't think too much about it at the time, but then the next time I booted up my computer and each time after that, all those services had again been disabled and needed to be restarted. After I restart the services, everything works fine, and I don't have any issues until the next time I boot up. "Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service": A few weeks ago, I started encountering a new service error on startup. In addition to the Themes, DWM, and audio services needing to be restarted, I started getting the error, "Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond." "Windows could not start the Malwarebytes Service": When I booted up my computer two days ago, I encountered yet another new service error, this one regarding MBAM specifically. I got the message, ""Windows could not start the Malwarebytes Service." However, it doesn't appear that MBAM was disabled, as the nightly scan ran as scheduled that day and the next (with no reboot in between). Wireless connection randomly crashes due to no "valid IP configuration": While I've run into this issue occasionally before (when, for instance, my internet connection gets reset), I've always been able to fix it by simply resetting the Wireless Network Adapter and/or rebooting the modem and router. Now, however, as of about 2 weeks ago, my wireless connection is crashing about every 2 days or so and neither resetting the adapter nor the modem/router fixes the issue. Additionally, sometimes I'm unable to disable the wireless network adapter from the Control Panel; it simply doesn't respond to my clicks. The only way I'm able to get the wireless connection working again is by rebooting. Long boot-up times: Ever since upgrading to MBAM 4.0, my computer's startup time has been extremely slow. I do have self-protection module early start enabled, and I understand that that setting can delay startup times to an extent. However, I've always had that option enabled in all my previous versions of MBAM, and I've never noticed startup times as long as they are now. Since the self-protection early start changes the order of services and drivers at startup, I don't know if the new version of MBAM is somehow interfering with/causing all the service issues I've been experiencing since upgrading? Are any of these problems I'm having known issues between MBAM 4.0 and Windows 7? If so, are there any known fixes? Otherwise, could downgrading back to v.3.8.3 be an option? I never had any of these issues with the older version of MBAM, and I haven't installed any other software or made any other changes to my computer to cause these issues. 4. @LiquidTension and @exile360, Thank you very much for the super-speedy replies and assistance. I've uninstalled Dell B&R, and that has, indeed, fixed the issues I was having with MBAM. MBAM is no longer crashing when I click on "Scanner" or when I attempt to delete the quarantined threat. I was able to successfully delete the quarantined item with no issues. Problem resolved. Thank you again.
  5. Thank you, @LiquidTension. I was just about to run the MBST repair when your reply came in. I'm uninstalling Dell Backup and Recovery now. Will post again when I'm done as to whether or not that resolved the MBAM issues.
  6. I'm running MBAM Premium v.4.04.49, update package v.1.0.19074, component package v.1.0.810 on Windows 7 64-bit. I'm having problems with MBAM crashing in specific instances. (I get the Windows message, "Malwarebytes has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem.") MBAM "stops working" when I do either of the following: 1) click on "Scanner" in the main interface screen. I want to view my historical scan reports, but whenever I click on the "Scanner" box, MBAM stops working. 2) attempt to delete a quarantined threat. I noticed today that MBAM had quarantined a Trojan.Malpack.VB back on January 8. I'm able to click on "Detection History" in the main interface screen with no problem to view the quarantine list. But after I select the quarantined item and then click on "Delete," MBAM stops working. When I re-open MBAM, the quarantined item is still there; I can't delete it. Just prior to these problems with the MBAM crashes, I was having an issue with MBAM's real-time Malware Protection being turned off after a computer restart, and it wouldn't turn back on. I had to force-quit MBAM and restart MBAM. But once I restarted MBAM, the real-time Malware Protection was once again turned on. I don't know if this issue, which is resolved now, is related to the current crashes I'm still experiencing. MBST results attached. mbst-grab-results.zip
