  1. Yes the computer is extremely painstakingly slow-and old but it holds sentimental value to my mom so I was hoping to at least slap on a usb adapter so she could go online and not wait 20 seconds for each page to open! She doesn't use it for anything else so it being a dog is not that big a deal. The wired connection and wifi are the same, about 15Mbps download and 15 or 20 Mbps upload, which is also a little puzzling. I though it might be a registry issue but I can't find any help in that area online and forget about help from Lenovo Tech support-unreal. I have no trouble with wired or wifi on any other machine. The speed is there it's just being limited by something in the Lenovo. Anyway, I really appreciate your response, have a good one,
  2. In the process of troubleshooting my internet speed problem, I found this site and guidance given to another member with the same issue. I reached out to the member that provided the help but I'm assuming this may not be the correct way to go about getting help on this site. I performed the steps provided as help for slow internet speed by this member and have attached the results of each. My service to the house is 400 Mbps. I have 4 computers and three have no problem with speed (all at least 180 Mbps wifi) but the Lenovo (G585 2181) will only get 15 Mbps max on both wifi and ethernet connection. I have tried two usb network adapters (AC600 and AC1200) and they both get 15 Mbps. The ethernet card is rated to 100 and it too gets 15 Mbps. I've booted in safe mode and no change. Spent countless hours troubleshooting this online trying many potential solutions to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.
