  1. Not really the answer I was looking for. Nothing against Windows Defender but up until about a week ago McAfee and Malwarebytes were coexisting just fine. I know Malwarebytes issued a new version. McAfee I am not entirely sure if there has been recent upgrades.
  2. Not even sure if this should be in this forum but recently I needed to reinstall McAfee and Malwarebytes 4..1.0.56 and it seems like McAfee does not want to reinstall and play nicely with it. I have tried using McAfee's Triage program then their MCPR (uninstall tool) and then reinstalling. Sometimes during the uninstall it will freeze and I wind up having to kill the process via task manager. I then reboot run MCPR again and then it will finish. After that I try to run the reinstall and it freezes like about 3/4 through the install during the application check. Also have that it seems to kill my internet browsing and mess some things up with like hitman pro where it will say no connection. Removed McAfee everything runs fine. After that ran hitman pro, Malwarebytes, and AdwCleaner 8.03 and all came back clean. Also ran a FRST scan which I am including the logs for. Do I have to remove Malwarebytes before installing McAfee and then reinstall or is this a bug in this version of the McAfee software. The version looks to be 18.4.134.0. Thanks FRST.txt Addition.txt
  3. I'm not asking about deleting the information in the prefetch folder. I know the info on that and the argument on both sides. I am wondering where prefetch gets its information from because it seems sometimes that i have dual instances of exe's running and I am not talking about service host or that I get that. I am talking about specific exes like for example cam.exe by nzxt which is for my case and for lighting. I am trying to look so I can see if I actually have dual entries or if the program is legitmately running multiple instances. Which really isn't even a question for this forum.
  4. I will thanks and honestly checking something last night there was a program that was causing issues not damage persay but I had to make sure to uninstall it....Advanced System Care which is like scareware....I forgot it was scareware and it litterally can almost perform like a DOS attack. So one of the things I need to figure as I forgot is wherere Prefetch gets its instructions from because what happens overtime is you remove programs and not all developers write clean code so then you wind up with all this extra crap running taking up resources. Perfect examples are two I can think of I took all Adobe products completely off my system but up until my last reboot Adobe Arm was still coming up in my prefetch and chrome...lol...three tabs open windows shows I don't 10-15 chrome processes and yes I understand how chrome works that why I got rid of all extensions except for three truly essential ones. One being malwarebytes chrome plugin. I also know about setting the option in Chrome settings. And nowadays I hate going through the registry anymore...lol...time consuming. Simple straight up things I don't mind but I don't like going on hunts for buried treasure...lol. I think you understand what I mean. Sometimes I think I have been doing this (IT) way too long.
  5. Yeah sorry with the holiday and all. I ran it and it ran fine. There was a different issue also though I had to tend to today. I had Zemana Antilogger on the box just trying it out and that seemed to be causing all kinds of craziness. Event logs are alot cleaner. Some DCOM errors but that to me is windows. I know how to fix them just dcom are a pain and even if you fix them and an update comes out you can wind up right back where you were. Oculus and Vive installs sometimes seem to be going slow sometimes. Disk supposedly has no errors. It's definitely not my bw, I am on on FIOS 1gb up and down. It may be that something in the Oculus software install is corrupt and I might just need to uninstall Oculus' software. Oculus' software can be uninstalled and reinstalled without having to reload everything. Vive's Infinity I would have to look into but their software doesn't seem to be running as slow as Oculus'. This is where all this came from originally and had some errors on the disk which I fixed. Then I want to doublecheck for malware which as you stated there was none. Last night after FBAR I actually thought there was because the box was really acting up but that it would seem was due to the Zemana Antilogger as I stated. Once I uninstalled everything seems to be back to semi-normal minus the Oculus thing.
  6. I was hoping someone might be able to take a look at the logs who understands them better than me
  7. Was seeing some issues on my box...part was due I believe to bad blocks on the drive but as a precaution ran Farbar. I looked at the intro to use doc not exactly sure how to read the two log files. If I read it correctly it almost seems like the logs were clean but wanted to make sure. Uploading both log files here if someone more familiar with the tool could take a peek. Addition.txt FRST.txt
