  1. @Maurice Naggar These are the inclusions I added to MB while trying to get KIS 2020 to work (as listed in this topic). Most of them are exclusions of Kaspersky. I few others (Chrome, adobe reader, keepass). So, then, I should leave the ones on KIS and remove the others? thank you so much
  2. thank you @Maurice Naggar. That was the first thing I did once it was installed. 😊 I haven't done so yet, but presume it is ok to remove the exclusions I added to MB?
  3. Thank you @Porthos for the link to KIS 2019. So much easier to just go back to 2019. Everything is working now on the new laptop. 😁😁 Thanks to everyone for all their help!
  4. Two notes, since I can't edit the post I just made. 1) The image is not the full list of inclusions, just the ones I added for Tbird. 2) I don't suppose anyone has a link to KIS 19 so I can install that instead of KIS 20?
  5. Finally felt like I could trust Windows 10 enough to move my files over, and Kaspersky is blocking Thunderbird, even with MB not running. Added all the exclusions I could think of and from the other post in this thread. Image attached. What am I missing? thanks in advance, as always!
  6. Thank you Maurice. I've added those drivers. Never dawned on me that I could type directly in the box. Had to force a full reboot when I started up today. And the taskbar keeps moving to the left whenever that happens. Hopefully this mess is resolved soon. I want to move foward and I'm not sure I'm willing to at this point.
  7. Ok, for now I'll just see what happens. Using explorer, there are many many files under System32\drivers (one of my previous screenshots shows that), but KIS only shows 3 files. Thanks again for your help.
  8. Part of my text got lost in the above. I don't have Sysnative set on my system.
  9. Thanks @exile360. The drivers do show up in the SysWOW64\ACTIVE_X\Anti-Malwar\sdk folder. Seems odd they would be buried down 3 directories. are these the same ones? Should I try adding these to the exclusions in KIS? TIA j
  10. I think I may have a working system now, many thanks to everyone, including @Maurice Naggar. Will let it go a day or two and see. KIS 20.0.14.1085(g), MB 4.0.4.49, Windows 10 Pro 1909. Interestingly, I was not able to exclude the MB drivers. KIS refused to list them when attempting to exclude -- in fact only shows 3 files. screen shots attached which show that the drivers are there. Is there some "expert" checkbox I need to find and mark on KIS to get it to show me the drivers? Additionally, I too have noticed that Chrome has multiple instances -- at the moment I have 4 open tabs and 13 processes. Closed all but one tab and I still have 11 processes. Is this normal or part of the "incompatibility" issue?
  11. Thank you @exile360 Oh Yay. Guess I made the right decision not to update KIS on my old computer. I will follow the other thread, and try what is in there as well. This thread might as well be closed. (If that's something I can do, I haven't figured it out yet.)
  12. Hi. I am in the process of moving everything from windows 7 to 10 on a new laptop. With just MalwareBytes (setup file download 12/19/2019, file version 4.0.0.108) installed, there are no problems. With just Kaspersky Internet Security (20.0.14.1085(g)) installed there are no problems. However, when I have both installed, I have problems with the entire system hanging, notably Adobe Reader DC (possibly also Chrome, testing today was just with Adobe, I first noticed the issue several days ago and this was my first opportunity to attempt to isolate the issue). Here's the basic order of what I've done: Installed MB (probably already had Adobe installed, don't remember). A day or two later installed Kaspersky, which complained that MB was incompatible; installed anyway. Was ok that day. Next day, Adobe (and possibly Chrome) hung. Even with nothing open in Adobe. Walked away until I had a better mindset. 🙄 Uninstalled Kaspersky. (probably restarted computer) Adobe worked again. Uninstalled MB Restarted. Adobe worked fine. Reinstalled just Kaspersky. Adobe worked fine. Reinstalled MB. Uninstalled MB. Uninstalled Adobe. Reinstalled Adobe. works fine.(probably restarted once or twice in the process) Added exclusions for the two folders listed in https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1123 Installed MB. Adobe starts hanging again after 5-10 minutes. Quit MB. Service is still running. Adobe still hangs. Tried to start MB, and got an error "Unable to start", "Unable to connect the Service". Verified that Services was still running. Tried to stop it to see if that would fix the issue. It was set to "stopping" but it never got to "stopped". Uninstalled MB and restarted. Note that I've tried installing MB first and KIS first. Doesn't make a difference. log from Support tool also attached (although MB was installed when it was run). Looking forward to getting these things playing happily together again (I have had them play nicely for years, just recently started having issues...) Many thanks in advance! j 2020-01-01-mbst-grab-results.zip
  13. Apparently the issue was fixed whilst I was traveling. Everything is working now, this can be closed. Thank you for all your help!
  14. @exile360, @Maurice Naggar -- thanks for your replies. I will be travelling this week, will be Sunday the earliest that I can try this and reply with results. thx
  15. @exile360 Thanks for the info. @Maurice Naggar, I've attached a scxreen shot of the notification I get from MB about real-time protection being turned off. I've also attached updated logs, although I rather suspect there is no point; will have to wait for a fix to be rolled out. 2019-12-08-MB RT prot off.pdf mbst-grab-results.zip
  16. Hi @Maurice Naggar. No, it definitely is not activated. Two (three?) days ago I got a notice that something with MB was turned off. So I clicked on turn on. Happened again the next day, and when I opened MB it said it wasn't activated. That's when I checked the forums and started this thread. I have attached a pdf with several screen shots. Thank you for your help. 2019-12-07-MB screenshots.pdf
  17. Thank you for clarifying. The original instruction was to disable, not uninstall. So I exited and made sure no services were running. If there is a way to disable other than exiting the program, I'm all ears and willing to give it a try. Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to wait for a fix to be rolled. out. (sigh)
  18. I'm sorry, that reply makes no sense (to me). I haven't uninstalled anything, the computer is functioning normally other than being unable to activate my license (which was working just fine several days ago). Perhaps you posted to the wrong thread??
  19. Sadly, that did not help. I completely exited Kaspersky, verified it was not running and no processes for it were running. The behavior did not change. I checked for updates on MB, still no change in behavior. Re-enabled Kaspersky, updated the DB, still no change in behavior. Noticed MS had an update to KB915597 and updated that. Tried again. Still can't activate. Reran logs. mbst-grab-results.zip
  20. I also have the same problem. My hosts file does not have the two lines indicated above. It is clean. This started yesterday with a notice that my protection was turned off. I went in this evening to see what the problem is. I can enter a license key, but clicking the activate button has no effect. When you enter a key, the activate button becomes dark blue. When you attempt to click on it, it becomes a lighter shade of blue. seems like some update was pushed out that is messing things up! 2019-12-06-malwarebyte issue.pdf
