  3. Good Morning/Afternoon So I've been having this issue the last few days that when my computer boots up it logs into windows then just stops and a command prompt appers and nothing happens further, but when I type explorer.exe then windows continues to load. This started happening when I deleted the AutoRun registry entry at Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor to get rid of a problem that make my cmd close the moment i tried to open it and without testing I did the same on my laptop because cmd also closed when trying to open it (I was trying to get into cmd to check the readibiliy of my exsternal harddrive that i now think is also corrupted). So I came across this post and the solutions seemed to be quite computer specific, so I was wondering if I could get a similar solution. I have tried using the system repair, but I just get an error saying it can't be fixed. I also tried installing the latest update of windows hoping that it might fix the AutoRun option. I have created my own Autorun with the value "explorer.exe", so now windows boots. Then the command prompt appears with a black screen then after about a minute the desktop appears with the command prompt still hovering there (This only happens on my desktop that I made the new autorun key, my laptop still just stays at the command prompt Kind Regards I will attach the files requested in that post so long Addition.txt FRST.txt
