  1. Ah yes. Hi. I've not touched it since you told me a fix was in the works. I was waiting. I just ran a scan while connected to the internet and it did update and scan and complete normally with no problems found so it seems to be working for me. FYI, I'm still using the DLL you sent but it didn't work before when it was updated but now it does.
  2. I was going to try but the Beta option is for Premium only. Grayed out in the free version. Sorry.
  3. I was just about to uninstall MWB 4 and be done with it but I'm curious so here is the mbam.dmp file. https://we.tl/t-hJJnbNYak7
  4. Sorry. I'm not sure what you mean. Should *I* click the @AS link and start a new thread there?
  5. The regular Big Blue Button scan on the main screen of MWB free. Initiated Update. It hung (ran way too long). Killed it and rebooted. Did update. Completed in seconds. Ran scan. AGAIN stuck on Scanning the file system this time on item 219,360. It's been on that number for several minutes. Cancelled it.
  6. Been there, done that. Here are the logs from a fresh run of the program. Thanks for the help. mbst-grab-results.zip
  7. I was sent here from https:// forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/254035-mwb-scan-hangs after they could not figure out the problem and thought you'd be interested. I am experienced with computers and do not believe I have a malware problem but it is curious MWB scan hangs during the file scan phase although the timer advances. You can see various things have been tried, cleanups done, etc. but there is still a problem with the scan. Anyone care to try to figure this out?
  8. Ran avastclear.exe in safe mode Ran FRST64 using Fixlist.txt Ran MWB which got stuck again. See attachments of screenshot and Fixlog.txt Are you suspecting something? What (basically) have these "fixes" been doing so far? Thanks again. Fixlog.txt
  9. I did this before with AVAST which has been uninstalled and repeated just now (added all listed exclusions) to Windows Defender. Ran MWB. Got "Could not connect the service" messge. Reboot. Ran MWB which stuck again on file scanning item 136,647 for several minutes until I cancelled it. I checked CryptoPrevent logs and it does not report blocking anything.
  10. I have never had or suspected a virus or malware issue on my machine. It's old. Used to be Win 7 and now Win 10. This all started with me being excited about the new MWB 4.0 so I installed and ran a scan. SCAN NEVER COMPLETES. Timer continues but scan has stopped in various places including Checking for updates section once and other places but usually in the file scan (last) section. Previous MWB help could not solve and suggested I go here due to this and other things they saw which I suspect are harmless and due to other protective software I use and have used. I uninstalled AVAST
  11. Perhaps that is it but, since I don't think I have a problem, the additional effort is just not worth it to me. Besides, you'd think it would have been quickly discovered if AVAST causes this big a problem. Again, thank you sincerely for your help.
  12. I've done a fresh install of MWB when I initially had problems with it so I don't think that's it. And my hard drive seems ok (see below) so I'm very disappointed because it's a great program and confused because I don't know what the problem is. Thank you for all your efforts! >wmic diskdrive get model, status Model Status WDC WD1600JS-00MHB0 ATA Device OK Generic USB SD Reader USB Device OK Generic USB SM Reader USB Device OK WDC WD4000AAJS-32YFA0 ATA Device OK Generic USB MS Reader USB Device OK Generic USB CF Reader USB Dev
  13. I disabled Avast Behavior shield and File shield and now it's worse. Stuck on item 3979 and has been scanning startup items for 12 minutes now. This is after a fresh reboot. Earlier, MWB was stuck on Checking for updates until I killed it and rebooted. This is very strange. I've had NO problems before messing with MWB not that I'm saying it's the cause. Today, my PS\2 keyboard stopped working. Had to swap it out with a different (USB) one. Either I'm being cursed or something very odd is starting to happen to my old PC.
  14. You guys are fast! Thanks for the help, it's appreciated but that was not it. Stuck for several minutes on same item count before I cancelled.
  15. It did not work. I added all the exceptions in the document but it has been on the same item count for over an hour. See images.
  16. Thank you for the quick response. I just reran the scan and it completed normally with no problems reported. I assume the program was finding a problem where there really was no problem.

  18. There is one and only one file named C:\Device\HarddiskVolume1\Boot\BCD I renamed it BCD.txt so I could attach it along with the logs. Thanks for any insight into what is going on here. AdwCleaner[S00].txt AdwCleaner_Debug.log BCD.txt
  19. Thanks for the help. Happened again. was on item 162,471 when I looked at 28 minutes into scan and on same item 2 hrs 48 min in so I cancelled. Logs attached. mbst-grab-results.zip
  20. I've tried twice to do a scan with MWB 4 and the file counter stops around 137,333 even though the timer advances. I've let it sit for quite a while and cancelled after 3.5 hours. I didn't see any way to display what (file) is currently being scanned. Is this normal and should I just let it go for as long as it takes? Thank you. Windows 10
  21. I have no known problems but thought I'd scan to be sure. No way I'm going to let AdwCleaner mess with this folder without knowing more. What might this be telling me and does it seem odd? Windows 10 Version 1809 Build 17763.805 Thank you!
