  1. Hi Maurice I updated to version 4.1.2.73 component update 1.0.990 when it was released. I have had ransomware protection on the whole time and have had no problems at all. Thank you very much for all your help and for contacting me. It is very much appreciated. Regards Anne
  2. Hi Maurice Everything seems to be working well now with Ransomware switched off. Thank you for your help and for the advice about forum threads to watch. I usually turn my laptop off at least once a day and generally don't have it sleeping, which is why it took me a while to realize I had a problem (and initially I thought it was some issue with the power management). Once again, I am very grateful for your assistance. Regards Anne
  3. Hi Maurice I have done the Repair Operation as you suggested and have Ransomware switched off. Thanks for your quick response and advice. It's very much appreciated. Anne
  4. I am having problems with Windows 10 and Malwarebytes since Windows upgraded to version 2004. The problem occurs when my laptop goes to sleep. When I wake it, I can't launch certain programs or apps- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, Netflix, or Task Manager. File Explorer works as does the Control Panel. Once woken the laptop can't be restarted or shut down...just an endless spinning wheel until I force it to shut down. Once I start it again, the laptop works perfectly until I let it go to sleep. The only solution I have found is to turn off Ransomware. Any suggest

  6. Hi Maurice. Thank you very much for your help. It's running pretty quickly now with MalwareBytes installed and on. Actually it's faster overall than in sometime. Thanks again. Very much appreciated. Anne
  7. Hi Maurice. Thank you again for your help. The Fixlog ran in about 5 minutes but seemed to complete successfully. Here is the text. Anne Fixlog.txt
  8. Hi Maurice, thanks for your assistance. Here are the two files, as requested. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  9. I have just reinstalled Malwarebytes and switched off Ransomware Protection. Unfortunately File Explorer is now slower to launch again and once more there's quite a lag opening files. Strangely it seems to get worse the longer I have Malwarebytes installed?
  10. Hi exile360 Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I noticed the remnants of Avast in the scan results and removed it. I have also disabled fast start up. Neither made any difference. I have just uninstalled Malwarebytes again and the difference is quite noticeable. Whole system is faster but especially File Explorer. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks Anne
  11. I have been having trouble with Windows 10 File Explorer since the 1903 upgrade. After trying a number of things, last night I uninstalled Malwarebytes and noticed an immediate improvement. I reinstalled Malwarebytes this morning and File Explorer is once again very laggy.
