  1. Hello. Good day to you. I have not heard back from you. Are you still needing help ? Are you still with me here ? I will close this case next Tuesday if I do not hear back from you. In order to continue here, I need to have the MSERT.log file.
  2. Hello. There occur several questions that need clarification. When do these black screens happen ? On system startup ? On the occasion of running a particular application? What version of Windows is this? Has this machine ever had a different Brand of antivirus installed ? In the recent past, has any sort of dodgy or free so called, or cracked game or app been downloaded and run ? Have you gotten Malwarebytes installed on this PC ? Then did you then do a scan ? If not, do so now. It would help to have a copy of the resulting scan report.
  3. Securitycheck.exe is being falsely flagged. Very unfortunate. You should be able to go toe Defenders protection history. Find that event. Select it and choose to have restored. But, yes, go ahead and see about turning off the antivirus protection. Get the tool downloaded. Run the Security check. Attach report in a reply. Then insure to get the Defender antivirus on.
  4. Temporarily disable Microsoft SmartScreen 'BEFORE" downloading the software tools. Plus you could also use a different web browser other than EDGE.

  6. You are very welcome. I am glad to have worked with you. We can proceed with cleanup of tools we used. To remove the FRSTENGLISH tool & its work files, do this. Go to your Downloads folder. Do a RIGHT-click on FRSTENGLISH.exe & select RENAME & then change it to UNINSTALL.exe . Then run that ( double click on it) to begin the cleanup process. Delete mb-support-1.9.7.1002.exe Delete mbst-grab-results.zip on the Desktop. Delete HousecallLauncher.exe Delete KVRT.exe on the desktop Delete EsetOnlineScanner.exe Any other download file I had you download, you may delete. Consider using PatchMyPC, keep all your software up-to-date - https://patchmypc.com/home-updater#download Keep your system and programs up to date. Several programs release security updates on a regular basis to patch vulnerabilities. Keeping your software patched up prevents attackers from being able to exploit them to drop malware. I am marking this case for closure. I wish you all the best. Stay safe. Sincerely. Maurice

  8. Excellent. 😃 SecurityCheck by glax24 I would like you to run a tool named SecurityCheck to inquire about the current security update status of some applications. Download SecurityCheck by glax24: https://tools.safezone.cc/glax24/SecurityCheck/SecurityCheck.exe If Microsoft SmartScreen blocks the download, click through to save the file This tool is safe. Smartscreen is overly sensitive. If SmartScreen blocks the file from running click on More info and Run anyway Right-click with your mouse on the Securitycheck.exe and select "Run as administrator" and reply YES to allow to run & go forward Wait for the scan to finish. It will open a text file named SecurityCheck.txt Close the file. Attach it with your next reply. You can find this file in a folder called SecurityCheck, C:\SecurityCheck\SecurityCheck.txt Thank you
  9. That scan result is excellent. Please do this special search. We just want to see whether there is something that references a python script -- if any. There is the FRSTENGLISH.exe tool on the Downloads folder. We will use that to do a search. Find & then start FRSTENGLISH Type the following ( better yet, use COPY then Paste) into the search box exactly as shown SearchAll: python;.py;.bat Then press the Search Files button Please wait while the program searches for all entries relating to this , when done a search.txt log will be saved to the desktop. Please attach this log to your next reply. TWO SecurityCheck by glax24 I would like you to run a tool named SecurityCheck to inquire about the current security update status of some applications. 12. Good. What we are looking for is any other potential actual malware. To that end, we here on the forum use different scanners. I expect your machine is now in good state. But still, I would like for you to run a different scanner tool. One other scan here. TrendMicro HouseCall scan from this Link First, Download & Save to your Downloads folder the appropriate HouseCallLauncher Once the download is complete, go to where the Housecalllauncher is saved & double-click it to start it. The program will check with TrendMicro & do a update run. Next it will show the Disclosure window. Click Next to proceed. The end user license agreement is presented. Click the Accept radio button & click Next to proceed. I suggest a CUSTOM scan on C drive. IF you wish a Full scan or a Custom scan, first click on the Settings then you can select which drives you want to include in the scan. The default is a Quick scan. Click Scan now when ready. The scan progress will then be displayed. Monitor the progress or just leave it alone until it finishes this phase. When the scan phase has completed, if any items are tagged, you will see a list, showing the file & its location, the classification of the threat, the type, risk, and Action option. If you see an item that you know is safe, you can click the Action , and select Ignore. When all done & ready, click the Fix now button. The "Summary" at the end at "Review Results" is what matters.
  13. Microsoft Defender antivirus scanned over three million files and found no threats. One can no longer say that Microsoft Defender is not present. It is in fine shape. I would recommend getting readout reports as to update status of some key apps. Temporarily disable Microsoft SmartScreen to download the next software below Download SecurityCheck by glax24 from here and save the tool on the desktop. If Windows's SmartScreen block that with a message-window, then Click on the MORE INFO spot and over-ride that and allow it to proceed. This tool is safe. Smartscreen is overly sensitive. Right-click with your mouse on the Securitycheck.exe and select "Run as administrator" and reply YES to allow to run & go forward Wait for the scan to finish. It will open in a text file named SecurityType.txt. Close the file. Attach it with your next reply. You can find this file in a folder called SecurityCheck, C:\SecurityCheck\SecurityCheck.txt Next, Download Farbar's Service Scanner utility and Save to your Desktop. Right-Click on fss.exe and select Run As Administrator. Answer Yes to ok when prompted. If your firewall then puts out a prompt, again, allow it to run. Once FSS is on-screen, be sure the following items are check-marked: Internet Services Windows Firewall System Restore Security Center/Action Center Windows Update Windows Defender Other services Click on "Scan". It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach that file. When all done, you may go back to turn ON the EDGE Smartscreen protection.

  15. Look at your C:\Users\Alex\Downloads folder and if you see that .tmp file or any other .tmp file, then Delete them. Next, [ Do a custom scan with Microsoft Defender Antivirus ] Just want to do a visual check in Windows Security to see (visually) that Microsoft Defender is on , and to do a Custom scan. From the Windows Start menu, select Settings, then select Update and Security. Next, look at the left-side menu & select Windows Security Next, In Windows Security section: Click on the grey button Open Windows Security Now, click on the shield Virus and threat protection Look to see that Microsoft Defender is shown & available for use. On the next display, look at all the options. Look down the list and see "Check for Updates" . You should click on that to have the system check for updates for Windows Defender. Watch & wait for that to complete. Please also note that the Scan options (all) can be displayed by clicking on Scan options. Click that & select CUSTOM scan & then pick the C drive & have it go forward. Once it has started the scan phase, you can go take a long break. Let me know the results.
  16. If and only IF you find it very difficult to get to SAFE mode.....then study and apply these tips, so that you can put Windows into a Command prompt, with which I can guide you to doing some lookup and possible adjustment. This all starts with the LOGIN screen On the Windows sign-in screen, press and hold the Shift key while you select Power > Restart . After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart. You may be asked to enter your BitLocker recovery key. The next screen will show Advanced Options. I would like you to click on Command prompt You will still be prompted to login. Once into a Command prompt, I would like you to report the last displayed line on the Command prompt window. Have courage and much patience.

  18. we need to place Windows into SAFE mode You may begin to do this from the Windows-sign-in-screen. See this Microsoft support how-to-article]/url] You would need to first do a LOGOFF so that then you see a fresh sign-in screen.
  19. You are saying that your user-account never had a Password or a PIN ?? Here is what to do. Press the POWER off button and insure that the pc is really powered down. Wait for like three minutes, and then push the Power ON and just let the system load. If that does not clear the issue, I would repeat that process up to four times. Keep me advised.
  20. @lukariohex It has been several days and no response. Are you still needing assistance ? If yes, I need support tool report in order to see what is here. Kindly get back to me soon.
  21. This next tool ought to take something in the range of 15 - 25 minutes tops, depending on hardware speed. get & run the Malwarebytes MBAR anti-rootkit tool to do 1 run with it. Disregard the title subject of the topic.Run the MBAR tool as listed here https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/198907-requested-resource-is-in-use-error-unable-to-start-malwarebytes when done, I need the MBAR logs. Upon completion of the scan or after the reboot, two files named mbar-log.txt and system-log.txt will be created. Both files can be found in the extracted MBAR folder on your Desktop.
