when trying to open Malwarebytes (using the Icon the main bar) i get an error 'no application set to open this URL'  and I regularly get an invitation to update the software which is annoying.  any ideas?

A computer service engineer installed Malwarebytes on my computer and I can't get rid of it! It's still on the main bar on my MacBook pro and  I keep getting the company notifications that a new version is available.  I never took the free version or bought the charged versions - I want to get this off my PC.  Please help.
