Guys - Don't know what I did, but it has not popped-up for the past couple of days. At least during the short periods of time I've been using the laptop. I've bookmarked all this, and will attempt some of the later postings if it shows up again (fingers crossed). Thanks again...till next time.

For Exile360: Unless I'm doing it incorrectly, I do not find any AVG folder under Program Data/Malwarebytes or either of its subfolders. There are other folders in there, but nothing that has AVG.

Thanks for the replies. I downloaded the file from the link provided above. It downloaded the .exe file to my desktop. I double-clicked on it...my laptop asked for permission, I gave it. It then appeared to be extracting files, but there no other prompts. I tried again...the same thing. Nothing appears to "check license agreement" or get started. I tried downloading the tool again....it appeared with a similar icon, but I had the same results. Any ideas? BTW, I got no shutdowns for several hours this AM..it just started up again, and goes off about every 10 minutes.

I'm running Malwarebytes 3.6.1 premium edition. I am running Windows 7 64-bit, and am also running AVG. It has, I believe, all the current updates - if I attempt to update, it will read "applying," and then read that it is current. It has been giving me the popup "malwarebytes web protection is off." Sometimes it will say '"real time protections." I hit the "turn on" button, and it does turn on, and will stay on for a period of time, but then will popup again. I have seen others on the forum with a similar problem, but nothing recent. Is there any way to correct this? It is annoying.
