  1. Blue screen Mini dump shows ntoskrnl.exe caused by address ntoskrnl.exe +939a0 Really hope this is what caused my blue screen. When rolling back MB I forgot to exclude AVAST in MB.....ooops! · C:\Program Files\AVAST Software · C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software And a recent Avast software update completely wiped my settings/exclusions on it. I’ve always excluded in Avast · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware · C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService · C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\farflt.sys · C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys · C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys · C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMChameleon.sys · C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sys · C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys This is for all the MB and AVAST users(or anyone else in the know), is it necessary to exclude these paths In AVAST individually as well, seeing that they are located in the Program Files\ MB folder? · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\malwarebytes_assistant.exe · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe · C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe
  2. About a minute passed after typing my last post and I Blue screened! Haven't had a BSOD since one of MB's dodgy updates last year. Oh well...Back to the drawing board.
  3. Nastajia You can turn on web protection with that package as it doesn't cause freezes. 🙄
  4. Nice one! Now way in hell I'm doing any Beta testing or updating to a fixed component package release until I know for sure the freezes are gone with the wind. I'm thinking I may leave auto updates off all together, for ever and search for new updates to see if there are any issues with them before installing. Beats going down the road of wasted time chasing freezes and BSOD's. Avast free had nothing to do with the freeze for me and I still couldn't reproduce the freeze while using Win 7 on my HDD with package 1.0.058 with 1 week of use. Although I Beta test and use opensource software, I wouldn't Beta test something I paid for. Hats off to those that are Beta testing. You all should receive something for your kind service. MB for life!
  5. I've not had one freeze while on my HDD using a Huawei 4g mobile connect with latest MB version and component package. I'm running this now as I type. HDD has Windows 7 updates up to Aug/2018. On my SSD it seemed to be related to the ASUS ac-53 as it wouldn't freeze with the Huawei, as I previously mentioned. Everyone affected should roll back to previous component package. For me all is good on my SSD after the rollback. I did a complete UN-install and install, where license and id keys were needed to activate. Working like a champ...lol. Def's update just fine and it's not like the previous package is worthless and not doing it's job at detecting WWW crapola. I should've mentioned previously that the first freeze I had on my SSD was straight after a pop up informing me ransomware protection was disabled. I do feel everyone's pain though, being a long time MB (since the start) user, I've seen some crappy updates over the journey. BSOD's being the worst IMO. When your system is OC'd and a software update makes you BLUE SCREEN, that sux big time. Also seen a lack of Auto updates which was frustrating as well, although this has not happened for a while. Now we get the updates but some you would have rather not received.....lol May the log GOD's shine upon all those working on this! MB for life!
  6. Done. Hope this helps. Windows Updates are up to Dec-2018 and had been before freezes. I only had 4 or 5 freezes while online on my SSD with the first 1 late Dec and the others around 2 to 3 days apart. I have a dual drive setup with my HDD storage/backup drive also a fully functioning WiN 7 64 sp1 install, as this used to be my main drive. Not sure why Windows Defender is showing in mbst-check-results as being enabled. I have it disabled and always have. As I mentioned in my first post I had completely uninstalled then re-installed MB with previous component package. Before this I made 3 changes to the registry, disabled virtual wi-fi mini-port adapter and Bluetooth collaboration for ASUS ac-53 to stop Broadcom driver error codes (The BCM42RLY service failed to start - event id:7000), as I was chasing a driver issue initially. I never check event viewer unless I have to....life's too short...lol mbst-grab-results.zip
  7. Just to add to my last post. I've always used AVAST free alongside MB. I know they don't like each other...lol...but that's just how I roll. MB for life!
  8. Windows 7 sp1 64 pc build. I've been a Malwarebytes user since the start. Back when it was Pro and a one time fee, lifetime license. I never post on these types of forums and only found out about this after posting on askwoody. I spent almost 3 days troubleshooting for a fix to the freeze. I'm overclocked, so when this type of issue arises it's a big deal. I should've known better after last years BSOD debacle to search for a MB related issue. I'm not here to bash and I hope this is fixed ASAP. I will still keep using MB as I've never had a virus while with it. This is more widespread then MB staff think. That's just my 2 cents. I've uninstalled MB and re-installed with previous component package and so far no freezes. This should have been done by MB as a reverted update. The freeze only occurs for me with an ASUS usb-ac53 1200 adapter. It wouldn't freeze using a Huawei 4g usb wireless dongle. Good luck to all working on this and happy unfreeze d new year!
