  1. I'm not sure exactly where to look for that? I clicked on log tab in Macrium Log> Warning Logs > Dropsown menu. Where exactly should I be looking?
  2. ***Backup aborted! - Unable to read from disk - Error Code 23 - Data error (cyclic redundancy check). *** photo attached
  3. Ok, will do. I think it's weird that Macrium has the box for the external USB drive checkmarked by default. In other words, for Macrium I didn't choose or opt in to backup my external drive, it was already done for me. I find it strange that Macrium is telling me I must uncheck the box that they put the checkmark in before I can proceed. I will now uncheck the box and proceed. Thanks
  4. Sorry, for some reason the photos in my previous reply are all the same. Attached here is the photo of the problem notification from Macrium Reflect.
  5. Ok, I was getting oh so close to success then I ran into a problem, please see attached photos after reading this message. The first snag was that it turns out the macrium.com tutorial, https://reflect.macrium.com/webtutorial/How_to_create_a_disk_image.asp , pertains to what I imagine is a previous and notably different version of Macrium Reflect Free. I was confused by the difference. I decided to checkout the howtogeek.com tutorial, https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/7363/macrium-reflect-is-a-free-and-easy-to-use-backup-utility/ and found it does pertain to the current version of Macrium Reflect Free, mostly. The problem I'm stuck on now is when I get to the part where I choose the destination or location folder for the disc image I'm getting a notification window from Macrium Reflect and here is what it says: The destination path is included in the image. Please select a different folder. The howtogeek.com tutorial does not address this obstacle unless I missed something but I read and reread it thoroughly. Any suggestions? Thanks
  6. Got it, will do. I still need to finish reading, https://reflect.macrium.com/webtutorial/How_to_create_a_disk_image.asp and then will proceed. Thank you
  7. Should I image the entire drive or should I only do #5? In other words, is it necessary for me to "image the entire drive"?
  8. Ok, got it, thank you! I'm getting tired and it's late. I'll continue this tomorrow and update you when I've made some progress. Goodnight
  9. Ok, I'll skip the Cobian tutorial, no worries. As far as the "online support for Macrium" is that a live person who will walk you through it? If so, I think it's past their business hours so I would need to wait and try during their business hours. When you say, "if not then the support documentation from Macrium should cover it too.",do you mean the howtogeek link you sent me below? If not, then what do you mean by, *support documentation*?
  10. Got it, thanks. My new USB cable is now plugged in and I will now seek out the help file from Macrium and follow the link from Blee... wait the Bleepingcomputer tutorial link you sent me is specific to Cobian? Should I look at it anyway?
  11. Ok, Cobian is uninstalled, thank you. Thank you for pointing out the unusually large number of partitions, I didn't know about this. I didn't intentionally set out to create anymore partitions than were originally there. I don't even know exactly what partitions are or they're purpose, sorry I still have a lot to learn. The number of partitions I have seems unnecessary and I'm worried that it will only serve to confuse me. 1) How did I unknowingly create so many partitions and could it have been 1 of the free software pc maintenance programs I used in the past that I've since deleted? 2) How do I fix the problem of having too many partitions?
  12. Please see lower right corner of attached photo for Cobian backup shortcut. How do I get rid of that?
  13. No the USB drive was not plugged in but now it is. please see attached photo. 3 questions: My process of downloading and installing the Cobian program ended at the screenshot I attached previously. 1) What should I do about stuff related to Cobian Backup 11 I've already downloaded? 2) Do I now need to delete anything at all related to Cobian Backup 11? Thank you for pointing out the unusually large number of partitions. I don't know what partitions are, sorry I'm still learning a lot. I didn't intentionally set out to create anymore partitions than were originally there. 3) How did I unknowingly create so many partitions? 3a) Could it have been 1 of the free software pc maintenance programs I used in the past that I've since deleted? 3b) How do I fix the problem of having too many partitions?
  14. I installed and ran Macrium Reflect Home Free. The attached screenshot is the result.
