  1. Rui System is stable and running well. Thank you for all the help it is truly appreciated. Jack
  2. Rui System has been stable for the last day or so. I did not find a Malwarebytes folder in the Program Files (x86) folder on my Win 7 pro 64 bit system. There is one in the Program Files folder. This link gives an updated list of exclusions for MBAM 3 I have placed exclusions in both Mbam 3 and MSE. I'll give it a day or two to be sure it is stable then let you know how it's going. Thank you very much for the help. it is much appreciated. Jack
  3. Ran Sophos following the steps above. Computer froze before Sophos finished. Rebooted in safe mode with network. Again followed all steps above. Computer blue screened before Sophos finished. Sophos logs attached. I rebooted normally and ran a MB3 scan which completed and reported no threats. I also have a MiniDump file from the bluescreen if that will help. Even though SFC and boot drive health show no problems I wonder if there is a intermittent problem with the boot drive (SSD). I can clone the existing drive and try the clone as boot. Thank for the help. Any suggestions? SophosVirusRemovalTool.log SophosVirusRemovalTool_cloud4.log
  4. Hi Rui Computer has behaved well today. No freeze-up, blue screens or black screens. Last night at 4:47 am MB3 quarantined "cumulus.exe" a weather reporting program I have been running for over 5 years. It runs 24/7 to feed weather data to several sites. I ran it through VirusTotal and it showed clean. It has been running all day without problem. I will run Sophos later and report results. Thanks for the help. Jack
  5. Hi Rui Thanks for taking the time to help me get this computer fixed. In the12 hours prior to running the scans you recommended the computer randomly froze once and black screened twice. No problems while running the scans. Running a scan in MB 3 premier will guarantee a blue screen or freeze. Thanks again for your help. 6. MBAM 3.6.1 has been causing freeze ups, or BSOD, or black screen on my Win 7 pro desktop for several weeks. At the suggestion of the MBAM 3 forum staff I cleaned the computer with the malwarebytes support tool, booted in safe mode, installed MBAM 3.6.1 and ran a scan. It completed and reported no threats found. I rebooted normally ran a scan and it completed normally. I ran another scan and it froze the computer. It was recommended that I post to this area to see if an undetected threat is present. FRST logs attached. Thanks for any help you can offer. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  7. Well, I reported success too soon. Tried another scan and computer screen froze with MBAM UI showing Scanning Startup Files. Rebooted and MB tray icon reports Web Protection off. MB Dashboard will not allow me to turn it on.
  8. Thanks for the help. I ran the support tool clean and it reported no Malwarebytes programs found. I booted into safe mode w/networking and successfully installed MBAM 3.6.1. Scan in safe mode ran to completion and reported no threats found. Booted normally and started a scan which progressed through Scan Startup Files and terminated with a black screen. Rebooted normally, turned off MBAM self protection, ran a scan which completed and reported no threat. I will try a few reboots and scans with and without self protection and report back. Thanks again.
  9. Attempts to restart MBAM results in "Unable to connect the service"
  10. MBAM 3.6.1 will not complete a scan w/o causing a BSOD or freeze the computer. Have tried running MB-clean and reinstalling without success. Win Security Essentials reports nothing found. MBST grab results zip attached mbst-grab-results.zip
