  1. On this PC, we use Windows Defender as the AV, and Windows Firewall. We use MWB (free) just to check up occasionally, about once a week.
  2. OK, well last scan completed in 40 mins 49 seconds (537,935 items scanned). Looks like that issue is resolved then ! (unless you need me to do anything else) Thank you very much for your help.
  3. Thank you for your reply. I think I used to have rootkit scanning enabled previously anyway, but I will disable it at your suggestion and let you know how I get on.
  4. Logs attached from Support Tool. mbst-grab-results.zip
  5. I don't know why this is, but despite cleaning out temporary files, a full scan can be running over 4 hours, and still not complete. Scans used to complete in under two hours, so I don't know whether there is a problem somewhere ?
  6. How do I do that? You mean from the program settings?
  7. I ran a full scan today, and MWB reported 418 infections. They all relate to a program I believe to be genuine (it was downloaded from MajorGeeks, it is available from Softonic also, & I think it is on FileHippo as well). It is called PCWInBoosterFree, by Sorentio Systems ( As you've probably guessed, it is one of those system cleaners. MWB reports it as Rogue.PCWinBooster, and the reported infections are Registry Keys mostly. There were no other infections reported. It was quarantined and re-booted. VirusTotal reports the file as clean.
