  1. I have previously used Prevx 3.0 to remove Cyber Security Virus from my PC. Saw it pop up again today in browser, so I did a little more research and found Malwarebytes. Downloaded, installed, and ran full scan. It found and fixed 5 items after Prevx had run and found nothing. Following the guidance for this forum, here is the text from the Malwarebytes log: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.41 Database version: 3160 Windows 6.0.6000 11/13/2009 1:57:02 PM mbam-log-2009-11-13 (13-57-02).txt Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|D:\|I:\|) Objects scanned: 517717 Time elapsed: 1 hour(s), 59 minute(s), 48 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 3 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 2 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{a072ec12-a40b-41dd-9a1a-cdb848b70f3c} (Rogue.Installer) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{1a26f07f-0d60-4835-91cf-1e1766a0ec56} (Trojan.Agent) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: C:\Program Files\Common Files\CSUninstall (Rogue.CyberSecurity) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\CS (Rogue.CyberSecurity) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) Resuming work after this was complete I stumbled across a website that appeared to be infected with Cyber Security Virus, although the GUI looked different. This time I ran a short scan, and the log is posted here: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.41 Database version: 3160 Windows 6.0.6000 11/13/2009 3:18:29 PM mbam-log-2009-11-13 (15-18-29).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 134407 Time elapsed: 17 minute(s), 50 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) I then ran TM Hijackthis.
