  1. Hey C... Exact same problem here, except I have one additional error. My Technical information reads: *** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x80537009, 0xF7C021BC, 0xF7C01EB8) Same problem with the virus. I can help ellaborate on steps taken to try to resolve it (No luck yet tho). You are correct in that there is no way to reboot to the operating system from the menus. I took it a few steps further and tried repairing the operating system with a OS disc. This didn't work... I couldn't boot up from my internal CD drives anymore, so I had to use an external IDE drive connected by USB to load the disc. Usually, XP errors like this can be repaired from an OS disc, but in this case there's bigger problems. The FAT (File alloccation tables) are completely scrambled. The OS disc says that the primary partition that the OS was installed on is of an "Unknown" type, that is it doesn't know if its NTFS, FAT, FAT32, EXFAT, etc. It also thinks the disc is empty, probably because it can't read it properly. End result: no repairs, and no closer to resolving this. The only option that immediately comes to mind is a magical format . My customer doesn't want me to do that yet, so I'm still exploring options. This occured at almost the same time as yours, so I'm wondering if this is the start of a new virus trend? Let's hope not. I'm going to try pulling out the HDD and repairing it from another computer, if possible. I'll post my results on here. Noxem Computers
