  1. running good, Ron! Hopefully we're back to normal...really appreciate the help. Thanks, Rich
  2. Ron, Ran another FRST scan and AdwCleaner after the fix (above) this afternoon. Attached the logs. Thanks, Rich Addition.txt FRST.txt AdwCleaner[S04].txt
  3. Ron, Fixlog.txt attached. It didn't create an 'addition' file this time. Took much longer to run this time and rebooted itself. Didn't do a system restore, but had Emsisoft anti-malware turned on. Got a message that a couple files in quarantine were false positives and were restored, but I think that was after I ran FRST (turned off now...just MWB on). Thanks, Rich
  4. Hi Ron. Logs attached. Also noticed that the C:\Windows\System32\rpcss.dll file that I replaced has a newer timestamp than the original (that I copied over). Think it best I replace again? Guess it wouldn't hurt? Thanks for all your help, Rich Mwb.txt AdwCleaner[C03].txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  5. Hi Ron, Fixlog attached. I was able to find a copy of rpcss.dll on my DVD and replaced. Thanks Fixlog.txt
  6. new FRST.txt attached. for whenever you get time. Found the right partition this time! Thanks.
  7. hmm..upgraded the system to x64 a few years back. Perhaps I picked the wrong drive. I'll work on it. Thanks!
  8. FRST.txt attached and MWB Threat Scan run. 2 trojans found (report attached) Thanks for your help, oldGeezer FRST.txt MWB.txt
  9. log attached. Better to try in Safe Mode? Fixlog.txt
  10. Thanks for your help, Ron. Files attached. Emsisoft quarantined 'wmcagent.exe' upon reboot. Addition.txt FRST.txt AdwCleaner[S02].txt mwb_0417.txt
  11. Greetings, Picked up the wmcagent.exe virus (plus some additional others now, I believe) when I didn't realize my antivirus stopped working (a story for another day!). I've read through some of the other threads about this and tried to remove. Seems many of the suggested softwares find and remove some of the problem but since I don't know how to use the Farbar recovery tool, I haven't been very successful at finishing the job. I was hoping someone might be able to assist? I'd appreciate any help that can be provided. Thanks!
