  1. Kevin I appreciate the detailed instructions for laboriously removing Firefox. But it's the malware that I want to remove. Shouldn't M'Bytes detect and remove such an obvious example of unwanted adware? I found other malware apps that make specific claims to remove "r.svrtrack.com". But I already have anti-virus and anti-malware apps installed. Is this nuisance-ware so powerful and deeply embedded that even mighty MalwareBytes is forced to punt? PS___I don't know how this adware got on my computer. I'm very careful about such things. But what's to prevent it from getting back into Firefox after I go to all the trouble of uninstalling and reinstalling my browser? I would hope that the anti-virus and anti-malware apps would do their jobs, and detect the blatant malware behavior before I am even aware of it.
  2. The adware claims to be an extension to Firefox, but there is no such thing in the list of addons.
  3. Today in Firefox browser, started getting popups each time I clicked a new tab for a Google search. The popup wants me to click to enable a monetization feature in Firefox. Unless I approve that adware, it will continue to popup every time I search. A nagging nuisance. I ran Malwarebytes, and it quarantined a set of files that didn't seem to be related to this problem. After the search & quarantine the popups continue. I found other malware removers that specifically say they can find "r.svrtrack.com" files. But their sites were suspicious. I'd prefer to stick with Mbytes. Is this a known malware in Mbytes files. If so, why didn't the search find it? Is there a way I can get Mbytes to search for a specific target?
  4. Malwarebytes 3.3.1.2183 on Windows 10 I just realized that a fake Yahoo search engine has replaced the default Google with something that might be called "Yaahoo". Firefox forum thought it might be malware, but didn't know anything about it. Google still shows in setup as the default, and Yahoo is not listed in the search options, but when I click on the search box it goes to the spoof Yahoo page instead. It seems to be some kind of adware trying to get you to click on links to its advertisers. There is one suspicious file in the Firefox program : softokn3.dll. Is this a known PUP? Is Yaahoo a known malware? MWB doesn't report anything amiss. Is there a way to get MWB to look for this specific malware? See the link below for some information : https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-search-yahoo-com/
