i got a lifetime license key back in the good days. but unfortunately, i did not link an account to it. i still have my key and have it written down and stored safely though.
i had to format my hard drive recently and reinstall windows. when i re-downloaded malware bytes and re-entered my key, it would activate with no problem. when i get back on the next day. my key is no longer active and i have to re-enter it. i had to do this about 3 to 4 times until now, i get an error message saying i have exceeded the maximum number of uses for this key. it then gives me an option to reactive linked accounts, but i cannot because i do not have my key linked to an account myself.
what can i do? i have put in a support ticket already.
