Thanks

@AdvancedSetup Ok I ran the file only to realize I didn't turn off a antivirus program I had running. It seems it ran through the process, should I run FRSTEnglish again?
-
@AdvancedSetup Ok, thanks, I'll run this today and get back to you with the results. Thanks for the password manager link
-
Thank you @AdvancedSetup Can you list the changes this program will be making and if anything else other than what you list will be deleted?

Sadly it didn't work.

Windows 7 SP1 This morning I noticed the malwarebytes icon wasn't in my tray so I went to its directory and clicked on the mbam.exe file to start it. I the get a message that read "Unable to connect to service" I rebooted the computer and it still didn't work So I downloaded your Malwarebytes Support Tool and let it run though its process using the home version and no ticket. It asked me to reboot and I did. Nothing, so I tried again, nothing. So I removed the software using the control panel, downloaded your latest version from your site and went through the process to install. Then I get an message that an error won't let the software to install. I run your support tool again and I see that Malwarebytes isn't found, I click on continue anyway and the support tool crashes. I have Malwarebytes running on another system, (also Win7) and I see my account is up to date. I go to my account on your site and I no longer see the system I am having problems with in when I click on Manage Devices. I looked for support files to attach but I can't find any. I did find a folder named mb3migration I'm at a loss what to do next

While I do beleive your intent was to honestly help me, the steps you had me do caused more problems then it fixed. A greater majority of the problems where cured by doing a System Restore but there are still a handful of minor headaches that need to be fixed such as not being able to preview .txt files in the preview window. I found the problem on my own, the hiberfil.sys file somehow became corrupt. By simply deleting the file then letting Windows create a new one cured the problem. A simple fix that if I had known would have saved me days of work.

That is where I have FRST64 but the time stamp is off by 4 hours? I had no choice but to reboot the computer, that last message took 20 minutes to type in. On the last scan MWB quarantined a program which I know is safe. I see them in the detection history but no way to revive them.
-
I let the computer go to sleep, its really bogging down again. Still running MWB 4.4.2 Do you think this has anything to do with the ransomware that was found? mbst-grab-results.zip
-
OK, I'm doing a virus scan and its almost finished. I'll gather the logs then.
-
Should I reboot since that never happened? I would assume MWB is working, it caught the Ransomware.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. To start the link you provided lead to the wrong page, luckily I used the url name to find what I needed I noticed after the reinstall I lost the activation to MWB and I had to find my license to get it going again Then my system continued to lock up over and over again and then I lost the internet. Finally I got everything going again and ran FRSTENGLISH.exe and followed your directions about the text file you had me download. It was taking what I thought was a very long time to run and after awhile FRT failed then a popup showed saying that Ransomware was found and quarantined. I couldn't find where MWB places quarantined items so I can't give you more info than that Since FRSTENGLISH.exe crashed and didn't restart as you said it would I left it as it is awaiting your instructions I found this file below, I hope it helps Fixlog.txt

Reinstalling failed again

They've been installed for ages and haven't been a problem. I'll delete both to see what happens. The problem isn't only at start up but whenever the computer is running, especially when I'm using a browser.or when I try to run a local program
-
I had to run this program twice, I couldn't find the zip file on the desktop, instead I found it here C:\Users\Ron\AppData\Local\Temp\mwb1860.tmp Yes, I tried updating a few times in hopes that it will fix itself. I stopped doing that and I'm still getting a popup asking me to update (which I've been afraid to do ). Malware shows that I am running 4.4.2 update package 1.0.42951 component package 1.0.1358 mbst-grab-results.zip
