RAM usage - what is going on?

I have an I-7 processor, 16GB of RAM. Malware Bytes service is using 13GB of RAM and it's not in a scan. I uninstalled / reinstalled Malware bytes. still has the issue. Also, having a problem enabling real time protection. Argh....
