  1. A friend gave me her PC, here are the issues that I have found so far. Win XP 1-Boots up, anti-virus Mcafee has been uninstalled. I installed McAfee again but its blocking the updates. A scan with no updates doesn't catch a thing. 2-Installed malwarebytes, it let the install go but will not do updates. When I launch Malwarebytes it comes up then goes away. Same for hiijack this. I am taking this on this weekend and wanted some input. I have been advised to swap out hard drives, add the original HD as the second drive and start scanning like hell. Any input is appreciated!!!
  2. If y'all can take a look and let me know of any suggestions it would be great. I think I have won this battle, but I am skeptical. I do get the error updating malwarebytes, then it proceeds to load the update: Error code 732 (0, 0) Here is my malwarebytes log from the scan: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.41 Database version: 3090 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 11/3/2009 5:46:24 AM mbam-log-2009-11-03 (05-46-24).txt Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|) Objects scanned: 192637 Time elapsed: 2 hour(s), 57 minute(s), 54 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 1 Registry Values Infected: 1 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 5 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\safetycenter (Rogue.SafetyCenter) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
