  1. Hello again forum,

Thank you again AdvancedSetup for helping me with my inclk problem.

I logged into my other laptop to clean the same issue, and discovered some additional issues. Hoping to get some assistance please.

I ran MalwareBytes and ADWCleaner a few times each. It looks like there are a couple of items that are persistent.

    1. Myfree Codec, and

    2. Freemake Video Converter.

    3. Also, although not in the current set of logs, pup.optional.legacy was also persistent.

I also have a number of other computers in my household. Should I post these in the same thread? Or create a different thread for each?

Thank you again for your time.

  2. There was a proposed solution on the google forums, but I am waiting for instructions from the MalwareBytes group first. :)

    Hello there,

Welcome to the Google Chrome Help Forum!

    @Sade: Thanks for pitching in.

@User: I appreciate your efforts for trying to resolve the issue. Let me try and pipe it down for you. There might be chances that your user browser profile account might have been corrupted. I suggest you try creating a new profile account by following these steps and check on the off chance that it makes any difference:

    • Exit Google Chrome completely. Enter the keyboard shortcut Windows key lf6BG1S0AZRMf9Bb3JxN2Qm7H1LxSpn_4UlgUL2qCj9NHhvze3LjyE-YUaXD_1FHmsvjumBUPkJqoGsYMMfG2gGRsMWe3VpemVffiywaqRtG0PBU26ZA5bhm09dgcUYAIGRBWdQm +E to open Windows Explorer.

    • In the Windows Explorer window that appears enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\ in the address bar.

    • Locate the folder called "Default" in the directory window that opens and rename it as "Backup default."

    • Try opening Google Chrome again. A new "Default" folder is automatically created as you start using the browser.

Did these steps help resolve your issue?

  3. Hello,

I just opened my chrome browser, and received a message from MalwareBytes premium that it blocked a re-direct to inclk.com due to it being a malicious website.

The last thing that I did was install plug-ins for paint.net from what seemed like a legitimate website.

Here is the site which discussed the add-on I was looking for:

    https://www.thoughtco.com/editable-text-in-paint-net-1702095

It suggested to download the add-on from here:

    http://www.isimonbrown.co.uk/plugin-pack/

I found a thread called" I'm infected - What do I do now?" and am following the steps.

I ran a MalwareBytes scan (log attached), and no issues relating to this were found. Although there was PUP.Optional.Conduit and PUP.Optional.Spigot found. (I had these show up before the current issue too).

I also downloaded the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool as instructed. Logs attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
