  1. Hi, I have been using Malwarebytes for sometime now on my new laptop. A while ago, I got warning message from my anti-virus Avast software that MBAMService.exe was trying to access my passwords in firefox which of course I already blocked. So, should I worry about using Malwarebtyes from future access to my passwords? And why it is trying to get access in the first place?
  2. Hi, This is how I did it without any complication. Before uninstalling, first kill the service from the Windows Task Manager and also from the local Service. Then I use Revo Uninstaller Pro which I use often to uninstall any software. It just not uninstall but also clean any left over files. This way of cleanings avoid any problems when reinstalling again. I then use the old version of the Malwarebytes to reinstall and simply update itself and the problem is solved.
  3. I solved the problem. Simply uninstall and reinstall with the previous old version. It will update to latest version and the spike on RAM is no more. It's working normal like before.
  4. Hi, I tried, it's no use. While keeping an eye on Windows Task Manager, I see gradual increase of RAM usage by MBAMService.exe when I try to open the software. Interface won't pop up either. There used to be a tiny icon of Malwarebytes at the toolbar at the bottom of the desktop but it's not there. Looks like it doesn't want to show up no matter how many time you click on it. Apparently it got very shy from the last update.
  5. I even can't open the Malwarebytes interface. It always run in the background and gradually consuming RAM to full. I had to restart and tried to open it again but it won't. It's running in the background again and to stop using too much RAM, I had to shut down the service from the taskmanager and the local service. So, how can one updates and fix the problem?
  6. No, there is no other problem to address. Thank you very much for your time and support. God Bless
  7. Hi Aura, Thanks for the reply. $recycle.bin was not there before in my laptop. Some things must have cause this to appear and when I research on the internet, this are hidden folders. And it created some empty folders too and shortcut of system volume information. It even appear on my USB stick. However, I already solved the problem by checking the box "don't show hidden files, folders or drives" in Folder Option. Anyway, it's strange what causes those to appear in the first place.
  8. I am a new member and first post here. I am trying desperately to remove " $RECYCLE.BIN and System volume information Virus " on my windows 10 laptop. I scanned 3 times with malwarebytes but failed to remove it. Any advice on how to remove this troublesome virus ?
