  1. Would that be via the email/envelope button next to the "follow this member" button at the top of your profile page? I can't find a specific private message function.
  2. Ron, OK, I am having a problem with my computer now-- basically I can't sign into my long-time home page. And of course, the email account that they would have to send the verification info to is that same email account I'm concerned about opening because of the AVG threat box. I'm open to suggestions.
  3. Here hopefully, is a similar image to the AVG "threat blocked" box I received in the closed-to-comments Malwarebytes forum I mentioned above (I think you may have been the one to have actually closed that thread, as I see your avatar at the bottom: In my case the box said "We've safely aborted connection on (my email sign in .com) because it was infected with URL:Mal. When I clicked on "See details" in the bottom right corner I saw, among other things, an URL that my email provider verified was associated with one of its servers.
  4. I was never actually having any operational issues with my machine which I could detect at least. Rather, I was receiving a "threat blocked" box from AVG when I accessed my main email account as I described in my first post above. I did not take a screen shot of the box but I had seen other users in other previous, closed-to-new-comments posts here who had received the same warning but with other websites, of course. Now that AVG is uninstalled I'm not going to see that box, unless I reinstall it which at this point I'm strongly considering not doing if you can find nothing in those logs that I should worry about. I did notice the two items that the AdwCleaner seems to have turned up a couple times and did not remove? I mention that because about two weeks ago I did have an issue with the same email provider that required that I shut off my Chrome Adblock Plus. Perhaps it was an issue of something the email provider is doing, perhaps it's just AVG using scare tactics to get people to pay to have a tech support subscription in addition to buying their premium product which is what they attempted to do when I reached them by phone. Would you suggest that I not re-install AVG though I still have a couple years left on my premium subscription? Will Malwarebytes premium and Windows 10 provide me with adequate security? Or should I re-install AVG if for no other reason than to see if that box appears when I access my email again? Thanks. I know that's a lot of info and questions and you've already been a lot of help.
  5. Now I'm almost sure I did it wrong. I was confused on where to place a check if I had run the Farbar program before so I just saved the second scan run log as Addition1.txt to differentiate it from the earlier Addition.txt I attached in post # 3. Now I've watched a video on Youtube and I guess I was supposed to check the Addition.txt box under optional scan instead and I didn't? As you can probably tell I'm in over my head here, obviously. I should have gotten clarification. Sorry. should I run those steps again, checking the Addition.txt box or have I messed up?
  6. I'm worried that I misunderstood your instructions above and when you said "Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait" that I was supposed to open FRST64, do another Scan and then press the Fix button? I did not do another Scan with FRST64, I only opened it and then pressed Fix and attached the resulting Fixlog.txt from that to my previous reply above.
  7. Ron, Thanks again. And again, I hope I've followed your instructions correctly. Fixlog.txt
  8. Ron, Thanks for looking into this for me. I hope I've followed all the steps properly and am correctly attaching all the required logs. export summary.txt AdwCleaner[C00].txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  9. I am having a problem that I saw another person in a previous thread was having but that thread is now closed to new comments so I'm opening a new one. Since yesterday, I am repeatedly being shown an AVG box which says "Threat secured-- We've safely aborted connection on ___.___.com because it was infected with URL: Mal More threats may be lurking! There are further details available including the URL which my email provider says is indeed for one of their servers. This box appears only when I access certain emails from known sources. I have scanned repeatedly with both AVG premium AND Malwarebytes premium and neither shows that I am infected with anything. I have spoken with both my ISP/email provider and with AVG. The former told me there was nothing they could find on their end; AVG "scanned" my computer and "found" some remnants of McAfee, Avast, etc., as well as drivers on my computer that needed updated, which they offered to do for me for an extra subscription fee. They say these remnants and out-of-date drivers have probably allowed a trojan to get on my machine and that not even their premium product can find it. They did not mention that I am also running Malwarebytes so I thought maybe I would ask someone here what their thoughts are on what I should do next? Thank you
  10. I keep having pop up notifications that Malwarebytes is repeatedly blocking riskware from ecb.yusercontent.com via an outward bound connection. Is my machine infected, and do I need to take further action? Thanks
  11. OK, thanks Porthos. I doubt I'll re-up when my current sub runs out. Very shoddy business practices most likely translate into or out of shoddy product
  12. dcollins-- I'm new to this forum but thanks so much. After wasting several hours looking for help and both speaking with and chatting with AVG customer support-- who told me I couldn't run both at the same time but had to disable one and I was in no way going to get a refund from them, I did what you said. Then I reopened AVG and it said I needed to update (how long I was without protection I'll never know) then it did a Windows configuration and computer reboot (which took forever) but now everything seems to be working fine, as before. Now, is there someone who can explain to me what turning on the "Never register Malwarebytes in the Windows Action Center" switch will mean? Will that affect Malwarebytes functioning in any way? Will subsequent AVG updates cause further derailment? Thanks in advance
