  1. Oops. Edit: Deleted "transparently". So somehow you have downloaded this.
  2. I received PCMatic’s "Urgent" email today, probably cause I'm subscribed to their newsletter which I have just unsubscribed from. Thank you MBAM for finding the PCMatic as a PUP. I never downloaded this program. Following is the response I sent PCPitstop regarding this issue: "Your "Urgent Message....." email of today re MBAM finding PCMatic as a PUP. Personally, I am thrilled that MBAM is finding this because I NEVER downloaded PCMatic to my computer. I have only used the internet speed test on your site with this computer. So somehow you have transparently downloaded this. I am also going to unsubscribe to your Newsletter effective immediately. This is what MBAM found on my computer that I Quarantined: PUP.Optional.PCPOptimize HKLM/SOFTWARE/WOW6432NODE\PCPitstop PUP.Optional.PCMatic C:\ProgramData\PCPitstop PUP.Optional.PCMatic C:\ProgramData\PCPitstop\Scheduler-20141010.log " Keep up the good work!!!! Happy Holidays, Judy
  3. Hello Firefox, Thank you. It's quarantined. No worry. Have a great day!
  4. Hi, While MBAM was scanning Norton Security popped up a risk, Backdoor.Regin, located in MBAM program temp file: c:\program files (x86)\malwarebytes anti-malware\00014558.tmp I’m guessing it is another Norton false positive? Or is it for real? And in your program file? But it is quarantined and being a tmp file, I’m not worried about it. This is what Norton says it is: https://us.norton.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2013-121221-3645-99 Thanks. Jud
  5. Weeeellllll. Duuuh. That's strange though. Because I have always put the check to view -- I think. Thought it really strange though because I have never had any problems with MBAM. Only when my Norton "claimed" MBAM was "bad" (whatever it was) file a while back. That made Norton bad. Cause I knew that wasn't right. Thank you much for your help. Sorry 'bought my misunderstanding.
  6. Hi Firefox, Restarting the computer did not fix the View button. I tried update and it updated again, I scanned again. The View button was still grayed out. So I used the clean uninstall tool in step 1. I updated and scanned. Under History, Application Logs, put a check in the box and the View button is greyed out. Attached are the 3 logs you requested. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, IE 11 Thanks for your help. CheckResults.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  7. Hi, I have an issue with MBAM free. I just updated definitions and scanned and it found PUP: Optional.Squeaky.A in the registry which I quarantined. (Which PUP I can’t find in any search, any where.) I looked under application Logs to see when I scanned last which was 2/16. I viewed the Log for 2/20. Then I viewed the Logs for 2/16, my last scan prior to today. In viewing any other Logs going back to 2014 even, all the logs show scanned 2/16/15, as well as the definitions. I have closed and reopened the program and they all continue to show 2/16/15 scan date and definition update. So I closed it again and waited a few minutes and still the same. But now the View button is grayed out. I cannot view any log, Scan or Protection. What has happened?
  8. Thanks for your reply 1PW. Oh. I didn't look at the system tray for the minimized program. It's there. I just downloaded and installed 2.0.2.1012 without a clean removal. Updated, and scanned. All's working perfectly. The MBAM icon is back. Thanks much for your help. Have a great weekend!
  9. I just updated to database v2014.05.24.01. Now when I click to minimize the program, it closes it instead. Also, since I updated to 20.0.1.1004 Build Date: 4/3/2014, the MBAM icon is missing. It is the square with the 6 dots in it. Sorry, I can't describe it any other way. No biggie, just FYI.
  10. Ooooh. Ok. Thank you. There is no Logs folder in that directory because I saved it, not created automtically. Think I got it now. Thanks again for your help. I like the program so far. Easy to use and scans quite quickly. Have a good day.
  11. Hello Hardhead, Thank you for the welcome, and your reply. Hmm. I closed and opened Malwarebytes' and the log does not appear under Log tab. I did not remove the results because of the registry keys. I wanted to make sure these could be restored first. I left the ticks for each one, I clicked the Save Log (or whatever it said). The log says "no action". The log saved in C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\ and it is named as in your attachment. But it does not show in the Log tab. Hello RubbeR DuckY, Thanks for your reply. So if I remove the results, it automatically creates the log? Is that when it creates a Logs folder? I only have a Language folder under ...\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. There is no Log folder. The log saved in ...\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Thanks for your help.
  12. Hi, I am looking for a replacement for AdAware. I have just installed Malwarebytes 1.11 free. I saw this on CastleCops and thought I'd give it a try. I did a Quick Scan and in the results list there is Adware.Popcap. This is in the Downloaded Programs File. Its from MSN games (popcapdownloader). It also lists 4 registry entries. My questions are: There is only the remove button in the results list. Does this remove (delete) completely, or does it put it into the Quarantine when removed, so it can be restored if need be? Does it make a backup of the registry entries it removes, like in HijackThis? Or a restore point like in Spybot? I saved the log. But it is not showing under the Logs tab. But the log is in C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\ Why does the log not show under the program tab? Thanks for your help.
