  1. Aura, Using command prompt (admin) did the trick. I think that wraps things up for this issue. I cannot begin to thank you enough for all of your patience and help. I learned a lot and that's my favorite part. Thanks A Million, Krassus
  2. Aura, I copied and pasted as you suggested. I copied the error message: Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> bcdedit.exe /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu no The set command specified is not valid. Run "bcdedit /?" for command line assistance. The parameter is incorrect. PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> I appreciate your help Thanks, Krassus
  3. Aura, Not having any luck with that. I'm guessing it's a syntax issue. I've typed it as you show it including spaces. The error is "Set Command not valid" Sorry for the trouble. Thanks, krassus
  4. Aura, As far as I can tell I think we're back to where we need to be. The only thing, and it's minor, is that Windows login has changed to the black and white text screen asking me to choose to load Windows 10. It is no longer automatic. I'm sure it's a setting of some kind. If you happen to know the solution that would be great. If not then I still must express my heartfelt gratitude for all of your help and efforts in getting back on track. I have a hard time understanding why, from what I can see, virtually all of the help and solutions for Malwarebytes customers don't come from the company or its employees. Rather they come from volunteers like yourself. It's an odd setup. Mega Thanks, Krassus

  7. Aura, Yes I am sorry for the delay. There is no error message of any kind. I did go to the event viewer and found the error event: Faulting application name: AdwCleaner.exe, version: 7.0.1.0, time stamp: 0x597f6aa5 Faulting module name: AdwCleaner.exe, version: 7.0.1.0, time stamp: 0x597f6aa5 Exception code: 0xc0000409 Fault offset: 0x00393708 Faulting process id: 0x2b70 Faulting application start time: 0x01d31a3306b378c4 Faulting application path: C:\Users\Colonel Schmidt\Desktop\AdwCleaner.exe Faulting module path: C:\Users\Colonel Schmidt\Desktop\AdwCleaner.exe Report Id: 5d56ade4-a109-4714-a753-fe341bf5c363 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Researching the error code I see it is typically associated with damaged windows files. I did an in place repair/reinstall of Windows 10 as this was the suggested course of action. Unfortunately ADWC still returns the same error. This might be outside of your scope. Perhaps there is a similar program that fulfills the same function after which I can try and run JRT. Again my apologies for the delay. Thanks, Krassus
  8. Aura, The ADWCleaner scans but when I click the Clean button the process starts but then stops working....windows looks for a solution. They'll let me know when they find one There was a log generated between the two steps that I have included. Thanks, Krassus AdwCleaner[S2].txt
  9. Aura, Back from the Wilderness of Virusland Sorry for the delay but had to deal with some secondary issues. I believe these were the logs you were asking for. As far as I can tell it appears that we have beaten it. I can't thank you enough. If you need any more info from me please do not hesitate to ask. I am forever in your debt. Thanks, Krassus MWB Clean Log.txt mbar-log-2017-08-17 (20-55-12).txt Fixlog.txt
  10. Aura, That was it...switched ports and all was good...running MBAR right now Will update with all logs asap. Thanks, Krassus
  11. Aura, I get into the recovery mode and get to the console. The Directory is X:\Windows\System32. There is a flashing cursor but it will not take any keyboard input. It did ask for the password for my son's account but he does not have a password to log on to windows10. We did intentionally that after he forgot his last one. Any ideas as to what I've done wrong? Btw - the keyboard is fully functional after normal boot up. I can type in word, search, google etc. Thanks,
  12. Aura, I will do this tomorrow after I get home from work. I expect I'll post back around 8PM EST (US). Thanks, Krassus
  13. Aura, Here they are. Thanks, Krassus Addition.txt FRST.txt
