  1. Well, I've been using google chrome for a while now, and everything is working fine. Thank you so much for all the help!
  2. Ok, I'll start using chrome and check back later
  3. Apart from the one previously uninstalled, there are no unfamiliar extensions
  4. There don't seem to be any ads on the websites, but the browser still opens up new windows Edit: I just noticed a google chrome extention called east gamer Ads. The icon was invisible and I only just noticed it because it opened up a small dialogue window. I have no Idea how I missed it, but I uninstalled it, and google chrome seems to be back to normal, at least for now
  5. Here is the result with that fixlist: Also, I am sorry that I did this without consulting you first, but I thought the first time, the fix had been interrupted, so I ran it again with the old fixlist. (This was after the 7th post). Fixlog2 is the fixlog of that one. Fixlog.txt Fixlog2.txt

  8. Hello, this is my first time posting here, so sorry if the topic is in the wrong place. I have somehow gotten a virus/malware that targets google chrome, making it display ads and open new windows. Here are screenshots: https://puu.sh/wWdZA/1f5c5df87c.png https://puu.sh/wWe0b/7b83652387.png https://puu.sh/wWe1C/c7c0e21b30.png. This does not affect microsoft edge, as fa r as I know. I have norton, and ran a full system scan, and norton power eraser, and neither of those fixed the problem. I then downloaded Malwarebytes onto a flashdrive from another computer, and installed and ran it in safe mode, but the problem still persists. What else can I do? Edit: I also uninstalled and re-installed google chrome, which did not work. I am also dual booting windows and Ubuntu, if it is relevant
