  1. Well I can't remember where I read about adding these exclusions to MSE. I looked up the version I'm running and this is what I get. Antimalware Client Version: 4.5.216.0 Engine Version: 1.1.10502.0 Antivirus definition: 1.173.424.0 Antispyware definition: 1.173.424.0 Network Inspection System Engine Version: 2.1.10302.0 Network Inspection System Definition Version: 110.39.0.0 Whew! And I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit built in firewall. I though
  2. I've been running MBAM with Microsoft Security Essentials for a couple year swith zero problems. I noticed with the 2.0 update I had to set a new firewall policy to let it communicate with the MBAM servers. This made me wonder if the other filenames have changed making it neccessary to add the exclusions back in MSE.
  3. Interesting that almost 13 months passed between posts on this subject. MSE had a major update during that time. For a year I used the paid version of MBAM along with ESET NOD32. During that time MSE kept getting great reviews from respected users. My ESET license expired, so I am giving MSE a try. Until reading this thread I was confused about running both of them together properly. In my rudimentary testing, MSE misses some threats that MBAM catches, so I really want to run both together. I'm extremely happy to find this information. Details from Microsoft are slim on running MSE with other software.
  4. Awesome. Even after reading the instructions on file submission, it was unclear to me what to do with a file when you don't know whether it was a real threat or false positive. So is this thread the proper place for file submission when unsure? Thanks again.
  5. MBAM is reporting this file infected with "Backdoor.Bot". This file was downloaded from Asus's USA website @ http://usa.asus.com for Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Program.zip mbam_log_2011_01_27__08_43_14_.txt Thank you.
  6. It was interesting that I've had MBAM and Everest installed for months and only just now did MBAM report it as a threat. I'm happy this is false, I almost deleted the file from Quarantine.
  7. I'm not a big fan of all intrusive programs, but I have to say I like Mbam quite a bit. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and I'm in the middle of re-installing Mbam because I had no context menu availability. My main question, and I couldn't find the answer on the website or here, what's the difference between the free and paid version? Thanks, Me
