  1. Exile360 -- Thank you so much -- I think its just the MB that Windows has blocked at startup -- Its just I had a nasty virus recently and lost all my files and am petrified of this happening again. In fact when I click on "run disabled programs" it was only the MB on the list, so yes you are right. I am satisfied. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help
  2. PS I am doing an AVG and an MB scan as I type but has been fruitless (ie, no infections) as yet but I am panicking
  3. I downloaded MB this morning from CNET -- the free version -- and went to work as normal and shut down my laptop. Now I have turned it on and a popup bubble appeared bottom right of the task pane saying "Windows has Blocked some Startup programs and needs permission to run" or something along those lines.. screenshots are attached... Please help me -- I need to know URGENTLY if my O/System is at risk, or if this is just MB doing its job. In addition to MB I d/loaded spywareBlaster, which I was advised to do by someone on this forum, search my posts to see my other thread. I would really appreciate advice as my files are VITAL to my work.. Boot image shows the icon bottom right of my taskbar.. and the sys config images attached show how MICROSOFT security services have been STOPPED -- please help VERY URGENT thank you in advance, I really need help and ADVICE of what is happening D
  4. CNET is where I got the trial from, so if I just upgrade the version I have now using the option to "purchase" on the program itself, will I still get the discount?
  5. Hmmm, I see. More incentive to buy I suppose.. sneaky! But it is cheap (
  6. I do have one more question if you don't mind? The SpywareBlaster is great, and it says that even when closed I am protected. However the Malwarebytes program only comes with an installer, and I need to use administration access to open up each time, as if I were installing again (and it asks me to setup, to which I cancel, then the program becomes normal) -- Its not on the bottom right pane of my taskbar, so I assume its not running when not open? Please could you help this one last question~? I really do appreciate the advice
  7. Mate -- Thank you, that is excellent advice. I've just downloaded and it is fantastic. I have been using computers since I was 3 (i'm 25), and have a better than average knowledge, but when it comes to protection I, admittedly, have not kept myself up to speed. I remember back in days of old AVG & ZoneAlarm were suffice, but as technology evolves so do hackers. Thank you, this is valuable software, and im just happy to be getting it for free! I wish there was something I could do to help you Take care D
  8. Yes very much so! Thank you. Come next week when pay hits the bank I'll most definitley be upgrading, as it's only
  9. Hello there! This is my first post -- I am happy to say that I have downloaded Malwarebytes, and am very pleased with it. The initial scan notified me of an infection, which the program then proceeded to quarantine and delete -- AVG did not pick this up. I have the free version and it seems awesome, but I understand you can buy a license for
