  1. Just bought a Dell computer with 32 bit archit. I am a registed user of paid version of MBAM and have grown to depend on it. Will I have any problems installing MBAM on a new Win 7 computer with nothing but the OS installed? Anything I should Know or procedures to follow. I would really like to avoid pulling my hair out so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Thanks for your input - it's the damn power supply!
  3. I am running windows Xp Pro SP3 with all updates. I use Avast 6, MBAM, comodo firewall. Computer was running fine until I opened an email from jking@bolsunique.com - Someone sent you a New Years Wish!. As the email opened there was text that said "this is what they don't want you to know" then a visual countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and computer turned off and will not start. In fact, the power supply doesn't turn on - nothing at all works except the light on the start button which flickers. OK - I don't have a clue what to do. It's either a virus or a broken piece of hardware. What's getting me is the timing. The very second the countdown hit 1 the computer shut off and won't start. What do I do?? Thank you, Richard Weinstein
  4. I Was having big problems after last update 12/27. I uninstalled Zone Alarm Free and installed Comodo Free firwall -also running Avast 6 free. Anyway - all update problems solved - system running fine. Comodo free firewall seems to work fine and I like it better then the latest zone alarm. Thanks for all the info. (Win. Xp Pro sp3 Dell Precision)
  5. Uninstalled Zone alarm - ran MBAM-clean and installed the latest version. Put in my registration info and everything is working pretty good now although I did have a crash after a scan. On another machine I did the same and it works fine. Windows XP PRO SP3 with avast 6 free, now windows firewall which I don't love and Malwarebytes. Please fix these bugs. I never had any problems with other versions.
  6. I followed your instructions to the "T". Malwarebytes pro (registered) and Avast 6 free are now working. The problem is the new Checkpoint Zone Alarm- it won't start and when it does it freezes the computer. Please find a fix or give me the name of a free easy to use firewall that is compatible. Thank you - so far we are making progress. Only wasted 1 hr. today. Last night 3 hrs. While I wait for a response I am using the windows firewall and a web shield from Avast.
  7. Sounds good. I think I'll give it a try although I don't feel like screwing with a computer all day today but you seem pretty sure. What anti -virus and firewall are you using?
  8. Please post - we need to get these guys working - let's put the pressure on. Hi!
  9. we are on our second page of very similar if not exact complaints regarding 12/27/11 update. Please come up with a fix ASAP. Thank you Richard W
  10. I too am running WIn. xp Pro sp3 with Avast 6 free, Zone Alarm and Malwarebytes anti - malware and after the 12/27 update my computer will not work. When I reboot my mouse does not work - I can't do anything with the keyboard - the system freezes and I must do a hard reboot. I then went to safe mode and uninstalled Malwarebytes. Now I don't have a malware program that works. I paid for this and need it to work. You guys need to help us out here - it's your new version --too many people have the exact some problem with this update. Please help ASAP.
  11. these "blocked IP's" must be false positives as I don't run any peer/peer software and I get the exact same IP blocks. What's up with that. How is it possible for the same IP's to keep coming up on everyone's machine?. a very "popular" one is 125.65.112.161 fix it please
  12. Today I have my first "find" by Malwarebytes. It found Virus.Sality in system restore. I think it's a false positive can you confirm. I run bit defender Av 2009 and it shows the system restore as "clean". Need confirm. I know others have found same in other files but that doesn't mean I have a false positive too. Please let me know. Thank you
  13. no, it does not come back. I had to unsinstall, reboot, run uninstall tool, reboot, reinstall Malwarebytes and PRESTO - it's back! Thank you
  14. Malwarebytes seems to be running fine but the systray or taskbar icon is gone. How do I get it back?
  15. I was getting what I thought were false positives and you adviced to run without quotes "mbam.exe/deveoper" which I did. The result was that the program stopped logging scans completely and I receive a windows error message - windows can't find " /fullscanterminate c:mbam-log.txt". Please advise how to resolve. Thank you
