I recently noticed that with the latest update of Malwarebytes for Mac(Version 3.5.27) the default monthly scan is no longer active as it was intended to be for free users. I saw it first happen on my MacBook and when i upgraded Malwarebytes on my iMac i was able to confirm that the 'Default Scan' in the "Scheduled Scans" is not activated by default... I assume this is this either intended behavior or a glitch with the latest update that need a quick patch, as it happened on two of my mac devices... but i do believe that the free users of Malwarebytes are allowed to use a free monthly scheduled scan by default with only the option to change the day/time, according to the user guide. Is this no longer the case?

My free trial for Malwarebytes for Mac expired yesterday and i was wondering if the updates are still automatic even though Malwarebytes reverted o the free version. I checked the setting for Malwarebytes for Mac and found out that the "Automatically Check for Updates" option is still selected and i can change the timeframe for how long updates should be frequent. On the other hand, viewing the protection options between Malwarebytes Premium and Malwarebytes Free for mac shows that auto-updates is only a premium option. Am i still able to have auto-updates with the free version of Malwarebytes for Mac, or will this later be turned off automatically since it's only been 24 hours since ive run out of premium?

I noticed on the Malwarebytes release history page(https://www.malwarebytes.com/support/releasehistory/) that Malwarebytes for Mac has a new 3.2 version since 2/15/18. I have Malwarebytes for Mac on a home iMac that is using the free version as the free premium trial ran out. I opened Malwarebytes for Mac and checked for updates but it indicated that the latest version was already installed. The version my iMac is using is 3.1.1.505 for Malwarebytes for Mac but the version history shows that 3.2 is the latest version. Is there a way to get the 3.2 version of Malwarebytes for Mac installed or do i have the current released version of the non-premium Malwarebytes for Mac?

Is the original MBAM able to detect ransomeware from a scan or is that only a Malwarebytes 3 feature?
-
I currently have the original Malwarebytes Anti-Malware tool for Mac installed on my macbook and want ti upgrade to the new Malwarebytes 3 for mac. The only issue is how should i approach the installation. When i open the MBAM app and upgrade through there, should i wait for Malwarebytes 3 to fully install before uninstalling the older MBAM app? Or can i still use both MBAM and the new Malwarebytes 3 with no interference, or is that a bit over the top? Is MBAM still receiving the same signature updates as Malwarebytes 3 or is it best to upgrade?

Is MalwareBytes for Mac enough ?
sammy1738 replied to John10's topic in Malwarebytes for Mac Support Forum
my Sophos Home for Mac is great; no performance impact and runs along Malwarebytes perfectly sorry to hear that you had issues, perhaps you had the legacy version? -
I have the original Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac application on my macbook rather than the new Malwarebytes 3. I havent fully switched yet due to testing the newer version on my family's home computer and waiting for the self-updating to be implemented on mac. Does the original Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac app still get signature updates to be up to date on current malware and PUA's like Malwarebytes 3 does? If not then ill fully switch to the new Malwarebytes 3.

I have the new Malwarebytes 3 for mac running on my computer; i went to see how much longer the free trial has when i noticed that there was a update avaliable for Malwarebytes. I downloaded the pkg file and it updated Mlawarebytes from the 3.0.1 version to 3.0.2 without any hassle. Theres just one thing on my mind... I dont remember if the older Anti-Malware app of Malwarebytes for Mac did this as i belive it used to update automatically when there was an update avaliable. Does Malwarebytes 3 for Mac rerquire to download a pkg file for updates now? Was it like that in the older version?

I've noticed a console log with Malwarebytes for Mac that may or may not be concerning. What happens if i have the console app open with "malwarebytes typed into the search, i can see log entries of the scan that Malwarebytes preforms. During the scan i see three error message that reads "*** Expected to get UTI for file '<private>' but got NULL on line (/LSCore.mm:2383). Flags are 0000000000007000. Please amend <rdar://problem/18605177> with this information." Im unsure what it means or if there is something defective as im not seeing this error message being displayed on my second mac computer. I provided a screenshot down bellow; the error message is the same for all three lines
