  1. Ron, Thank you for all your help.I recognize the time and effort you put into the site. I feel that I should do something on my part to show my appreciation but don't know what that might be since I'm new to the site. Unless I have missed something in my looking around here. If so please let me know, okay? Thank you, Take care, Mike
  2. When I refer to Antimalware 3 I mean the Premium version of Malwarebytes... I just lost the free trial period I've been using but will be buying the subscription for Premium next payday. Mike
  3. Hi Ron, Attached is the file from running the FRST64 and fixlist.txt you wrote for me. The full disk check you mentioned only took about a minute and a half... is this right? A screen popped up after restarting and showed a progress circle rotating with the text that said that it was 100% during that minute and a half. Just checking with you on this. I ran the Reset MSconfig before running the FRST64/fixlist. This fixed the "Normal" boot option issue, FYI... Mike Fixlog.txt
  4. I guess I was referring to WinPatrol WAR, which addresses ransomware, malware and zero day threats compared to Antimalware 3 by Malwarebytes which I'm currently using. (Now) Would I gain anything by using the WinPatrol WAR? I'm going off to run FRST64.exe with your fixlist.txt now. I'll post results when finished. Mike
  5. Ron, Does the license for Antimalware 3.0 do the same thing as the WinPatrol product? I am using the Antimalware 3.0. Do I need the WinPatrol item as well? The malware items not the startup manager function of course.
  6. Hi Ron, I'll go item by item as you have them listed above: 1... Wondershare Helper Compact: I used the Forced Uninstall option of Revo Pro and removed this. 2. The system Restore disabled issue: I couldn't find out how to do this, what I read I wasn't sure I understood. Could you help me a little? 3. I do use Google a lot. Is this just launching Chrome, because if it is then it might be there because I changed my default browser to Chrome? Otherwise, I don't know what this is. Am I right about what I think? I used a little app I found online. 4. How do I remove the "BootExecute: autocheck autochk * bootdelete" you have listed here and how to reset to MS defaults? I am unfamiliar with what this is. 5. Refer to number three. I think this might be from switching my default browser from IE to Chrome. Am I right? I used a little app I found online. 6. IObit update item: I used the Forced Uninstall option of Revo Pro to remove this. 7. mfeelamk.sys: I found this using Explorer and after highlighting it I simply deleted it. Was this a correct way to do this? 8. I used DiskCleanup from the Search Taskbar. I cleaned only the Temp Internet Files and the Temporary Files check boxes. The items you mentioned were removed when I went and checked in Explorer. 9. I ran MSCONFIG, checked normal boot, apply, and restarted. When I went back to check MSCONFIG, the selection for Startup was back on Selective Startup. Why and how to fix? 10. How to fix the Task Manager Startup issue? Do I just enable everything there and then use one of the programs you mention in the post you had me read on Msconfig Is Not A Startup Manager ? Sorry if I appear a little dense. My FMS is acting up and I am a little slow due to the "brain fog" component. But, I think I have covered everything that I can find and understand from my google searches. Mike
  7. Here are the FRST64.exe logs. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  8. Hello again! I have deleted all of the old restore points and created a new one. My laptop is running faster and smoother than it has since I bought it I think. One last request, you mentioned some items in my event log that I should check. Could you please give me an idea what I would be looking for to check and where I would find them? Under which task in the Task Catagory should I look and am I looking for warnings or what? I could take it from there... just need to know a few terms I guess. I'll sign off and say goodbye now so you can close this out. Again, thanks a million. I hope your weekend was like you were hoping for! (In a good way )
  9. Ron Isn't Java needed for web surfing and such? What do I do when a window pops up letting me know I need it to do something? What do I replace it with when something isn't working? I'm not really all that sure about how much it is needed and all that it is used for. I went to update Flash Player and the web page told me don't need to because my browser has it incorporated within it. It said the same thing about Edge and IE... not that I use either very much. I do appreciate your help n all this! Mike
  10. Ron, I ran Malwarebytes 3.0 again and it found nothing. Here are the logs from running FRST64.exe after rebooting. My machine is running so much better. I have not noticed anything that I could construe as malware related, at least not since my last reply. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  11. Ron, I am speechless! It took all of about two minutes to notice the difference! I really have been using my laptop for ten minutes or so after I ran the Fix function of FRST.and then removed all but eight of the Chrome extensions. I'm one of those users who aways have twelve or thirteen Chrome tabs open when I work or just surf the web. I'm not sure what the Fixlist.exe file you had me run did, but doing both things you had me do sure made a difference. What next?
  12. Hi Ron, 1. I apologize for being unclear above. I meant that I had the Intel Update Driver Utility listed in Revo Pro but not in the Task Manager. I did uninstall that using Rev Pro. 2. What about having no Esrv.exe? So, I will run the FRST.exe program with the Fixlist.txt file in the same folder and then remove the extensions from Chrome. I should have the results posted in about an hour or so. It's dinner time! Thanks,
  13. I did not see anything labeled as an Intel Driver Update Utility in the process list o the Task Manager. Nor did I see a file labeled Esrv.exe. There is an Update Driver Utility in the list of Programs in my Revo Uninstaller Pro. Again no Esrv.exe there, but it shouldn't be anyway, right? I just read about too many extensions in Chrome while waiting. I had decided to remove all but the three or four I actually use regularly but I wanted to ask you if I can do that now or wait until finished with your instructions... what shuldI do? I'm going now to uninstall the driver utility program.
  14. Ron, The Sophos Virus Tool did not find anything and reported my laptop Clean. Here are the logs generated from the tools you had me download. I am beginning to really wonder why my PC is lagging and freezing all the time... The blue progress circle spinning and freezing itself at times as well. I am hoping you find something! Thanks, Mike AdwCleaner[C0].txt Addition.txt AdwCleaner[S0].txt FRST.txt
