  1. Hello exile360, and thanks for responding so quickly. I found that link in the automated reply from my post. I would have gone there first, but there was no apparent link to do that until the automated reply came up and it was in the "Reveal hidden contents" button. I've filled out the form and submitted the content of my post to the ticket. If I've not seen the link you provided, my bad, but I guess it should be made more apparent... jmho.
  2. My apologies if this isn't the correct place to get this resolved, as my explanation below will show. If this is not the proper place, could it be moved to the proper place, as I only have one day left on my subscription. I responded to the Renew Now notice last week. I clicked the button in the popup (when I start the machine). It showed the renew price of $24.95 for a 1 year subscription for one device. It took me to the store where my Shopping cart showed that and offered the payment options of one of 4 credit cards and PayPal. I clicked on PayPal and it looked like it was working, only to pop up what seems to look like the PayPal window but instead of a nicely formatted graphics output it is old style text, text links, and old style buttons. If I click on the OK button, nothing happens. If I click on the 'Agree and Continue" button it shows a little wait cursor and then a few seconds later brings me back to the Secure Checkout page but with the addition text showing "The fields in red must be completed before you can continue" (I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember exactly the wording) however, there are no fields, and no red indicators. When I click on Customer Support link at the bottom of the page I just go into an endless wait state with a spinner and no resolution. The process is the same when I use the renew button in the MWB app. I thought there might be a problem with the site on either end at the time, so I thought I'd wait and it would get fixed. This morning, MWB shows I have one day left on my subscription and I went to renew and I'm having the same issues. What concerns me further is that I've made numerous attempts to PayPal attempting to new, and am wondering if these attempts will be charged to me upon finally getting the problem resolved. Any help would be appreciated, as I really do wish to continue using MWB. However, if I lose the update price and have to redo all my exceptions (many) I will have to reconsider.
  3. The problem has been resolved. I downloaded and installed the most recent version with the version of MB-Clean I had downloaded 3 days ago and it's all working correctly now. Thanks for the quick fix!
  4. It is fixed now. I had uninstalled before I came to the forum fearing I or MWB had been compromised. I used the version of MB-Clean I dl'd 3 days ago to dl and install the new version and it's up and running with no issues. Thanks for the quick fix!
  5. Maybe they hired the guy that got fired from the Hawaii notice?
  6. Hi, it looks like I've got the problem lot's are experiencing. 3 days ago I had a problem with my computer shutting down because of a bios misconfiguration and processing some video files with Movie Maker. After that was resolved I started to get the pop about web protection not on and I couldn't turn it back on. I downloaded the MB-Clean tool and used it to do a clean removal and reinstall of MWB 3.3.1 yesterday and it appeared to fix the problem. About 15 mins ago, while on the web doing some searches I got a low memory warning and then a BSOD. After the dump and reboot I opened Task Manager and watched the processes window and saw MWB eating memory at about 32 megs every update until I had about 1/2 my memory used up. I ended the process but it restarted and commenced the same leakage. So, I ended the process and used MB-Clean to remove MWB and reinstall again. This time it took forever to install and when the welcome screen showed it revealed a standard license. When I input my license key it appeared to accept it but never updated. So, I removed MWB using the Programs and Features selection in Control Panel. I am currently not using MWB until this is resolved. I'm hoping it's a problem with the software and not an attack.
  7. Hi Ron and Devin, I received the new memory and installed it in place of the old memory and the scan completes. I'm humbled to say that I went to a software company to fix my hardware problem. I thank you for your time and patience and apologize for wasting your time and effort.
  8. Hi Devin, I have made the changes to MWB and ran the Custom scan with C: drive and Rookits enabled. It ran about 10 mins and crashed. I then ran mb-check and have attached the resulting zip file as instructed. mb-check-results.zip
  9. Hi Ron, I obtained a copy of memtest86 and ran that for a while and it showed some errors in one section of my memory. I've ordered 2 more sticks of the same memory and will replace the one that showed a fail and see if that fixes the problem. Will report back after I install the memory and test.
  10. Hi Ron, I've been working to get you the .DMP file according to your directions. My Memory dump was set to Kernel and there was no choice for Complete memory dump. So I was able to edit the registry and change the CrashDumpEnabled parameter from 2 to one which gave me the choice of Complete Memory. Then I ran the scan configured for Custom and C: and Scan For Rootkits checked. It crashed as soon as it got to the the file system section but didn't trigger a memory dump. What seems to be happening, and this has been consistent, is instead of going to a BSOD, a hard reset is being triggered, because it goes straight to a black screen followed by a boot. What I did next was to find a way through enabling a registry key to give me a BSOD using the key combo of CTRL+ SCROLL LOCK + SCROLL LOCK. I loaded MWB, but didn't run it and triggered the BSOD manually. That is the only way I know of to get the full memory dump which I did get. However, since this was not triggered by the scan, there probably is no way to know if this file contains what is needed to find the error. The last bit of difficulty I'm having regarding this is the .DMP file is 16 gig, and WeTransfer will only do up to 2 gig., so it won't let me initiate the upload. I have Dropbox, but that has a 2 gig limit also. My apologies, but I have not been able to get you the files in the configuration you requested. Is there another means to accomplish this?
  11. Hi Ron, I've attached the fixlog.txt after running the new version of FRST64.exe with fixlist.txt, both on the desktop. Fixlog.txt
  12. Hi Ron, I did a System Restore Point. Also I've zipped and uploaded the files you requested. Then proceeded to edit the registry according to your list. There were a few entries that were not there, or were different than the item in the list. I've notated them here. In your list: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\Debug] "StoreLocation"="C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_mbamservice.exe_3075d91cb6d3cf7cbee23fe121933a621bf66fb0_0467d883" In my registry: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\Debug] "StoreLocation"="C:\Users\ArKay99\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_Explorer.EXE_e9cf5a57f9bf35ec61e8535fedf14cbf86df1_14f17c40" In your list: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\eventlog\System\mbamchameleon] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\eventlog\System\mbamchameleon] "EventMessageFile"="C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbamchameleon.sys" In my registry: No entries for either. I have not downloaded or run the FRST with the fixlist.txt parameters. I am awaiting further instructions or the 'go ahead' from you based on the differences in the registry. 13. Hi Ron, I've completed the tasks as outlined in your response above. MWB is now not installed at this time. FRST.txt Addition.txt mb-clean-results.txt SystemLook.txt
  14. Hi Ron, I have attached the new mb-check log as requested. One thing I wanted to point out that after I get the crash to the reboot and subsequent "Windows did not shut down properly" screen, MWB will not initialize when invoked. After about 30 seconds it comes up with the message dialog, "Unable to connect to the service". I wanted to be explicit with that info. It appears that whatever is triggering the crash is disabling MWB's ability to run afterwards in that way. This mb-check log is after the crash which rendered MWB unable to run. Would it be helpful to give 2 mb-check logs? 1 before, with a fresh install of MWB, and a second afterwards? mb-check-results.zip
  15. Hi Ron, the post just above this one was a description of what I did last night. After I typed in that post I went to run MWB and it came up with the "Unable to connect to the service" dialog. I then ran mb-clean-3 again, got a new version of MWB 3 (I think it was a later revision), and after it installed and came up with the main screen I ran a Threat Scan. It completed, show ~410k objects scanned and no threats. I've attached the log file here. So I then went and checked, and scan for rootkits was turned off. I don't know if that is the default, so I turned it on. Then I went and selected Custom Scan and selected the C: drive and Scan For Rootkits. It got about 30 seconds into the file system scan and crashed to the "Windows did not shut down properly" screen. I wanted to communicate the behavior of the Threat Scan and Custom Scan scenario's to you. It appears, at least this time, that a fresh install and Threat Scan completes, but a Custom Scan with those parameters does not. After Killer Update 1.txt
  16. Hi Ron, I dl'd and installed the 1.2.1302.0 version for v1.0 of the motherboard. rebooted and tried to run MWB. It didn't load and about 30 seconds later a message came up saying "Unable to connect to the service". So I ran mb-clean-3, and it cleaned MWB, dl'd a new copy and installed. It then came up saying I was fully protected. So I chose a custom scan and selected the C: drive and also Scan for Rootkit. It went through the scan process and about 3 seconds after it got into the file system, right after the memory scan, the computer crashed to the black screen and rebooted to the "Windows did not shut down properly" screen. I then chose Start Windows normally and the computer booted to the desktop. When I went to invoke MWB to do a standard threat scan, it didn't initialize and after about 30 seconds it displayed the "Unable to connect to the service" dialog. I was not able to get any reports because of this. One other note. I ran Speedfan while running the Kaspersky tool you had me download. My CPU temps started out at 66 F for all cores and throughout the scan they hovered around the 150 F mark. I did the same with MWB and until it crashed, it ran about the same...maybe a little cooler, around the 145 deg F with some spikes to 150F. It never went higher than 150 F. I'm using a Phanteks cooler. Just an FYI, as I was curious.
  17. Thank you for the links. I've run the tools in the MWB 3 section and have attached the resulting files. mb-check-results.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt
  18. Hi Ron, I dl'd, installed, and ran the utility as explained. It ran to completion and It reported no threats were found. Therefore there was no Cleanup Button showing. I've attached the 2 files requested. system-log.txt mbar-log-2017-06-05 (11-21-57).txt
  19. Ok, I dl'd and ran the Kaspersky scanner using the defaults. It completed in about 2 minutes and found nothing. Then I selected the system drive as an additional component to scan and it ran for 29:41 and found 0 threats. One interesting thing though. When I opened the details link, the next window to come up showed blank and had in gray letters "No Enough Memory". That's not me misspelling, that was the exact wording. Anyway, I await your reply. BTW, I have Speedfan installed. Would it be helpful to run that while I scan with MWB?
  20. Hi Ron, I DL'd and ran mb_clean-3xxx from the provided link. After the reboot and install I attempted to run the scan as instructed. It ran for about 60 seconds and crashed to a black screen and the "Windows did not shut down properly" boot screen with options to go to the various versions of safe mode or a reboot normally. Because of this, I was unable to get a log file to post.
  21. Thank you for your help. This isn't a business computer, just a small (5 machines, 3 PC's, 2 Mac's) home network. I have run the tool and attached Fixlog.txt. Fixlog.txt
  22. Not sure if I should give this a bump as it's been 4 1/2 days and no response to this thread. I'd still like some help.
  23. I've been using Malwarebytes Premium for about 8 months. Last night it scanned as usual and when I woke up this morning there was a MWB alert stating I was not fully protected. It said that my web protection was off and rootkit protection was off. When I went to re-enable them the rootkit protection enabled, but the web protection just stayed at the 'enabling' state. Then I tried doing a scan and it went for 10 seconds and stopped saying no threats detected and the log said it was cancelled although I didn't cancel it. Then I did a custom scan configured for all threats and all my drives (C: D: E:). This went for about 5 minutes and crashed to a blackscreen full reboot. I did this a second time with the same results. This was with V3.0.6. Then I found the 3.1.2 update on the forum and downloaded and installed that. I ran a custom scan as configured above and it went for about 15 minutes before a reboot. So I then came here, followed the protocol as outlined in the "I'm infected - What do I do now" thread and here I am. Hopefully this can get fixed soon. I've downloaded and run the Farbar tool and have attached the scan files below. FRST.txt Addition.txt
