  1. I thought I'd post the final video in case anyone was interested. Thanks to everyone for their above.
  2. Wow, those videos would actually work pretty well for my presentation. I will use them and credit you, thanks!
  3. That looks like a great resource I can use in my research, thanks for the link. I will definitely use it as a source. I am still hoping to be able to show my audience a live example site to demonstrate how the popup ads they use to initially "hook" the victims act. I'm hoping to actually visit a malcious page (from a virtual machine) during the presentation.
  4. I am a college student, and for a communications class I am taking right now I am going to be required to deliver a presentation which will determine my final grade in the class. In thinking about what do do my presentation about, I have settled on the subject of tech support scams. Basically some malicious site will show up in an ad or a search result, and fool people into calling an illegitimate "tech support company" to resolve the non-existent issues with their computer. I'm sure you are all very familiar with the concept. In delivering my presentation, I would like to be able to show my audience live examples, both to show them what scam sites look like, and also to demonstrate methods of exiting the scam sites. (Since you can't close the tab normally because they inject malicious javascript). However, I can't use real scam sites because they tend to get taken down once they are discovered. I am also not interested in trying to browse the dark web to find such sites or their malicious code. So, I'm hoping to find live example pages I can visit, which I can use in my presentation, hosted by a legitimate security research company. I'd even settle for the raw html and javascript and just set up a server on my local machine for the demonstration. I just want a real example so my audience can get a feel for what it's like to get these popups, with they way it freezes up the browser, the way it won't let you leave the page, the scary voiceover, etc... I also want to also show them how they can get rid of the popup on a live example. Does anyone know where I could get something like this?
