  1. Hello, since it appears v3.51 of MBAM ties into the OS more than previous versions, you might want to place mbam.exe into your startup folder and disable the auto-start within the MBAM program and see if this helps any. It will start up a little differently, behaviour wise in the OS boot
  2. Just a question is all, until help arrives. Is the CryptoPrevent a new install?
  3. I know what you mean, I've done the same thing myself, that's the beauty of Chrome browser, tons of plugins!
  4. Sounds like the Anti-Ransomware feature, and disabling it would help. It has too many bugs when it comes to files and not releasing its hold/handle
  5. You don't want to just uninstall the toolbar, instead of the whole browser? Did you try ADWcleaner? Just curious is all..:)
  6. I just wanted to clarify a little bit, when I mentioned temp file, I meant some text editors create one when typing only, and that temp file actually has your text as typed on screen and I'm rather sure the program will look at it even if its not used. A safeguard it is, in case of accidental closing of text document, as an example. If CMUD does create a temporary file backup, you might want to try as a temporary measure, to have program not create temp file and see if it helps with MBAM's anti-ransomware involvement.
  7. This is just a added note, and I do recommend what Firefox mentioned, as well as dcollins, but I see this as having the source of issues coming from the files in mbam service folder, which are there as temporary files used by MBAM when scanning. So if ESET found these files and since the files in question are PUP's, it would make sense for ESET to flag. But the originating source is that your google toolbar had extra bloat with unnecessary addins called pups initiially
  8. Oh ok. That sounds like the culprit then. Sorry to hear. I was actually stumped and was about to delete my reply since it didn't offer much, especially when it was 1 specific program only. That's a new one for me when Anti-Ransomware actually involves itself with typing and not just file protections. I wonder if your program creates a temp file as you're typing, and this temp file is getting blocked causing CMUD to not communicate with it?
  9. I don't know if you checked the CPU level during the slowing episode or afterwards, but I assume you checked during the typing and slow letter thoroughput. Have you seen any graphics related abnormalcy on computer. Sometimes a graphic/video card driver is to blame and needs updating. Or if its corrupted. These are 2 possible causes. I never mentioned rebooting
  10. IMO: I would guess it has to do with how many temp files are created from gameplay. More files, more freezes. I'll be glad when Anti-Ransomware gets improved upon
  11. Hi. Was this installation part of another 3rd party software? If you want to remove the extra bloat of that toolbar used in internet explorer, I would run ADWCleaner. That will remove the excess that would trigger what you're getting in ESET https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
  12. Sounds like CPU cycles are possibly too high. Are you up to the latest update, using the button for 'Application Update' in settings and Application TAB, and not just having regular updates that are for virus defs? If you do need an app update this might resolve what you're experiencing, since I think some users did have issues with the cpu being tied up too much..
  13. Got to thinking, make sure the whole folder is excluded and not single file(s), as this tends to help more with exclusions.
  14. I'm sure someone will come along to help you with this. I just wanted to say what I think is happening. The folder where that file was, the one file that was considered a flag for Defender, is where MBAM puts temporary files while its scanning your hard drive. So what Windows Defender found was a temp file in use by MBAM and if there a threat of malware or a likewise, MBAM would of no doubt caught it. So if MBAM didn't warn you about a malware, then its a safe bet that this temporary file was a false positive and was only a remnant of MBAM doing its job and putting that file there. On my computer, when there's a scan with MBAM, there's like 20 files in that same folder and then, when scan is over they're all gone. I wouldn't worry at all about what happened. I'm sure someone will offer assistance besides me tho
  15. I know several Antivirus programs look at that software as a PUP. Make sure you have the settings in MBAM to either Ignore PUP, PUM or else notify you, in case its set to delete. I know you made exceptions to it, but I think that might apply for the other kinds of detects, beside PUP, PUM, not sure..This is all I can think of that might help you.
  16. If you're using Bitdefender, make sure its up to date. I know the previous versions did have 'some' possible conflicts with MBAM, otherwise they're supposed to be compatible enough.
  17. You could always block a URL by using your Windows HOSTS file and doing a 127.0.0.1 TAB-space This is the site.com
  18. Hello! This file named cdd.dll stands for Canonical Display Driver. Microsoft is known to use it in their programs. But it might be better to do other mainenance than find the program that's using it, since you mentioned also another error. Both of these errors can be caused by your disk drive or SSD. I would run a scandisk and check for bad sectors. Also make sure your windows is getting the updates. Microsoft has seen alot of errors with the ccd.dll but, after seeing your other error too, it might just be your Hard drive/SSD thats having trouble. I was going to mention sometimes an anti-virus program can cause this error, (your 1st error mentioned) but it would only be a symptom and not the software and since you have already uninstalled and reinstalled MBAM, that's not it. Since you were doing rootkit scans, this goes deep in OS and any sector errors on disk would certainly show up as errors, BSOD's..You might also want to do a command line instruction of sfc /scannow to check for system files corruption. I don't know what windows version you have, but some users have seen your 2nd error on Win10, when 'Fast startup' is enabled.
  19. Do you have another security program installed that might be conflicting? Have you tried version 3.51 yet? All I can think of right now.
  20. I also use Malwarebytes premium and Kaspersky (KIS) and I have never had issues with both running. Same thing with the blocks, sometimes MBAM will block before Kasperksy, and vice versa. I would think that since each program handles exploits in a different manner from the other, probably not much tho, that the priority of which program notifies first, is probably just a matter of timing is all. If I were to guess which program would generally be quicker for catching 'Exploits', especially online, I would say MBAM, but I'm sure it varies.
  21. I can't say if there would be conflicts or not, but I will say that Malwarebytes does a great job against keyloggers. Especially with its Anti-Rootkit functionality, it then catches keyloggers and can remove as well. Just my 2c worth
  22. Do you have another security software installed, like F-Secure by chance? Sometimes a conflict can cause this I believe. Have you check the site https://keystone.mwbsys.com for connection status?
