  1. @AdvancedSetup Thank you for the update and followup, though as a customer, I am disappointed that there isn't an official repository for some downgrade recourse to a problematic release update, especially for a security product. Would it be possible to add some blurb about downgrade unavailability on Malwarebytes FAQ? Alternatively, would it be possible to have support make it available to customers on as needed basis? Throwing out ideas.. @David H. Lipman @Porthos Thank you for your patience and understanding.
  2. Porthos, Do you officially speak, represent Malwarebytes? I do not know what official capacity you are at. Does "Advisor" status mean you work for Malwarebytes at an official support outreach capacity? Will Malwarebytes stand behind your words? I am asking for clear and concise information on this matter from an official staff representative that is publicly available. If I come across as rough, that isn't my intention. Lack of clear "official" info is what has me frustrated.
  3. What is Malwarebytes policy on making older version(s) available for when there is a feature breaking or major performance hindering bug in the latest and greatest major/minor revision version? I haven't found anything in written form or FAQ. I contacted support and support emailed saying "We do not offer downgrade versions of our products for download". For a security product, that is a dangerous approach. From a customers point of view, the company just basically said FU. FYI - Beta versions is a no go in a production environment (that and having to deal with potential other beta issues). Unofficial download locations come with their own perils unless Malwarebytes stands behind the third party site. Frustrated customer here.
  4. Thank you for trying to assist, but as this is a security product, I would prefer the download to come from the vendor or an authorized mirror.
  5. Is there somewhere we can download 4.6.5 till this bug is worked out officially?
  6. Similar issue with v4.6.7.301 Turning of exploit protection resolves the speed problem.
  7. Thank you both for the assistance and explanation. Looking forward to a future smarter version.
  8. Hello, Any reason why my DNS monitoring system is picking sites that I have excluded in MBAM 3.3.1? It seems MBAM is pinging those sites like clockwork every 2 minutes. If I exit/quit MBAM application, the pinging activity stops. I have attached an example picture of 3 excluded sites.. and like clockwork my DNS monitoring system notifies me every 2 minutes until I quit/kill the MBAM application. How do I stop this constant activity? Ideas? TIA!
  9. v3.2.2.2029 - Win7 x64 Pro Hello, It seems that when Ransomware Protection is enabled, the first desktop login after a cold boot or reboot and after desktop has loaded, causes a 5~10 second delay/freeze. I can't even click on the start menu or system tray or right click on the desktop. After 5~10 seconds, everything functions normally. If I disable/turn off Ransomware Protection, and reboot/cold boot, everything loads and runs normally, no initial freeze. This has been a recent problem with v3.2.x. Older versions functioned just fine.
  10. @exile360 Thank you for the additional info. Glad to hear it isn't like WOT. Personally speaking, I would still like to see such gathering of data/product improvement as an option or way to turn it off completely if already opted in by default install. I would like to believe that companies would listen and reach out to their customers about product improvement and try to gather such info without explicit consent. Not saying having such data is a bad thing, just how it's gathered can raise concerns. I am just wary of having to give out more user info than necessary.. *ahem* Microsoft... not everything a user does is about product improvement. If that was the case, just follow twitter or facebook.
  11. @nikhils Thank you for the clarification. I understand and have no problem of validating license, installation etc. I still have a question about hubble.cosmos calls, why does it need to call out every time I run an application? I just did a test with a few files and watched my dns request to hubble.cosmos, matched perfectly, every time I launched an app, it made a request. Any reason why Malwarebytes needs to know what applications I am running? If this is some variation of web of trust.. not sure I trust such a service.. last I heard WOT was busted for not following their own philosophy/practices.
  12. @1PW Thanks! Though, I am not sure I would call it "routine" for a program reach out to a telemetery site numerous times a day, unless it is gathering/reporting some sort of information. That coupled with calling another website whenever I launch a program... looks and sounds suspicious at best. Never had that happen with previous versions of v3 and older. Last thing I want is a security type program to be doing such things. It's bad enough that other big named companies (ahem.. MS) is forcing it on their customers. Hopefully an official rep will be able to shed some more light into this matter.
  13. Hi, Why does my software firewall randomly prompt me about malwarebytes app trying to contact telemetery.malwarebytes.com? I have all of that disabled. Also, my software firewall notifies my that malwarebytes app seems to be quite frequently contacting hubble.mb-cosmos.com every time (seems like it) I launch a program. Currently using v3.0.6.1469
