  1. Right now Ccleaner keeps asking me to upload the new version of CCleaner, I've ignored them because I really don't trust them. I was planning on removing it anyway but didn't know it was owned by Avast. Every since they got hacked I've been leery of using it. Again, thanks for getting me up and running again.
  2. OK, it seemed to install just fine, activated my license and ran a scan and nothing found. About Defender, is it already installed with Windows 10 and can you schedule scans just like with other antivirus programs? Plus from my experience with other anti-virus you need a special tool sometimes to totally delete another antivirus off you system, such as say Avast. I will do some research on Defender, would be nice not to get all the pop up ads to sell me more add-ons. But thank you all for your help, I feel much safer now that Malwarebytes is up and running, it always catches things that Avast doesn't.
  3. OK, I'll go run the program now, I'll look into Defender, can't say I'm 100% happy with Avast so I'll check it out. Hopefully I'll be back to tell you if it installed. I take it you mean Windows 10 Defender? And it's already on my computer and it's free and it's good?
  4. Should I deactivate Avast when running the installer? Disable till my computer is rebooted?
  5. OK, it's downloaded, but want to make sure it's the right one as it doesn't say 'offline' in the name, here is the complete one that I downloaded "mb4-setup-consumer-4.0.4.117-1.0.810-1.0.18432" Is this correct? If so I'll run it with your previous instructions. And I should run it as Administrator, correct? When it's all done, I should reboot the system?
  6. No there is no sign of malware bytes on my computer, I just finally found the mb3 file and deleted it. It said it was on my desktop as you said but it sure wasn't visible, finally I told it to show me where it was and it showed it on my desktop so I just right clicked on it there and deleted it. Even when this first started, it showed malwarebytes was there but yet I couldn't access it. I just searched my computer just now the only thing for malwarebytes is an icon for it and that's it. The program is just gone.
  7. Well I ran the program, it said "repair" and I did and it did and then rebooted. Then program came up again, possibly I canceled it thinking it was done. Should I just try it again?
  8. Ok, weird I went to tell Malwarebytes to do a scan and I can't open it. I can see the icon and if I pull up the task manager, it shows it's there but doing nothing. Should I delete the program if I can and then redownload it? I hate not knowing whether it's running my daily updates. I'm not seeing my normal updates after it runs telling me all is well.
  9. OK, now I am getting the "sync-eu.exe.bid", at least in Internet Explorer. I had just updated Malwarebytes a couple of days before and now I have constantly been getting this message. I finally just shut off Malwarebytes for now. It's constantly popping up on my screen on every page. I told Malwarebytes to check for updates and it appeared to download something but apparently it wasn't something to correct the problem for me. I have the paid for version and it would be nice if I can turn it back on without constantly getting the sync-eu.exe.bid message popping up. I just checked and this is the version I currently have loaded, 2.2.1.1043.
