Malwarebytes just quarantined my file manager, xplorer² from <http://www.zabkat.com/>, as ransomware (event log attached). I doubt that's right, because I then reinstalled it, with an installer that I redownloaded from their website, and Malwarebytes quarantined it again. Both times, this happened as I was using to copy a file (by drag and drop) into a TrueCrypt drive, and I suspect it thought this is Malware.Ransom.Agent.Generic behaviour, because well, it was encrypting that file. Also, dragging and dropping between folders on the C drive works fine. OTOH, copying files onto the encrypted disk from a CMD prompt triggers no protection. (I'm scared to try with the Windows Explorer - Would it try to quarantine it? Would the desktop work at all if you did that?)
I hadn't updated xplorer² since last month (except when I just reinstalled it), and TrueCrypt since 2012 (there are no new releases). I suppose Malwarebytes has acquired updates today, but I don't know how to tell. It is current.
