  1. Let me do this properly: Brief description of the issue Malwarebytes just quarantined my file manager, xplorer², as ransomware. I suspect this is a false alarm. Any screenshot(s) of error messages(s) or other incorrect behavior "Quaratined ransomware" If the system crashed (aka blue screen of death or BSOD), please include the error message N/A Details on how you encountered the bug and any steps that can be taken to reproduce it I was using xplorer² to move (not copy) a file (by drag and drop) onto a TrueCrypt drive. Do you get the same result more than once if you follow the same steps? Y, even after reinstalling xplorer² from a fresh installer. N, however, dragging and dropping between folders on the C drive, or moving files onto the encrypted disk from a CMD prompt. Obtain and post a copy of the Malwarebytes logs attached Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs attached Create and obtain an mb-check log: attached logs.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt MB-CheckResult.txt
  2. Malwarebytes just quarantined my file manager, xplorer² from <http://www.zabkat.com/>, as ransomware (event log attached). I doubt that's right, because I then reinstalled it, with an installer that I redownloaded from their website, and Malwarebytes quarantined it again. Both times, this happened as I was using to copy a file (by drag and drop) into a TrueCrypt drive, and I suspect it thought this is Malware.Ransom.Agent.Generic behaviour, because well, it was encrypting that file. Also, dragging and dropping between folders on the C drive works fine. OTOH, copying files onto the encrypted disk from a CMD prompt triggers no protection. (I'm scared to try with the Windows Explorer - Would it try to quarantine it? Would the desktop work at all if you did that?) I hadn't updated xplorer² since last month (except when I just reinstalled it), and TrueCrypt since 2012 (there are no new releases). I suppose Malwarebytes has acquired updates today, but I don't know how to tell. It is current. 2xlorer-ransom.txt
