Hopefully a fix will be soon so I can re-enable the protection.
I think @SPDIF's solution, to downgrade to v4.6.6, is much better than disabling the Exploit protection.

Seems that Malwarebytes is interfering with Winrar in some way.
Yep! I work with archives quite a lot and I would've noticed this, so I'm pretty certain it's caused by the latest updated. So I'm guessing (hoping!) that maybe they'll fix this with their next release.

I will ask @Arthi to look into this as well.
Thank you very much! I strongly believe this happened with the last update. I think I had v4.6.6 and updated to v4.6.7, then the issue started.

Thank you! I always keep Winrar up to date and usually don't update to betas - only this time, for testing purposes.
Since this delay issue didn't happen before, maybe there will be a fix with future Malwarebytes updates. Till then, it looks like I'll have to get used to it.

Running out of ideas other than adding the WinRar exe to the allow list.
Well, thanks for your help, at least we found out the cause. I won't add Winrar to allow list and open up my system's security. But I do think this happened after the latest Malwarebytes update, I didn't have this before.

Also, reset the following to default and click apply.
I just have, nothing chaged. Maybe because I never played around with those, I always leave them at default.

If you turn off one protection at a time in Malwarebytes does it help? I would start with Ransomware.
Hey! I just finished adding the exclusions in NOD32 and the issue still persisted.
Then I read your reply and it looks like the "culprit" is the Exploit Protection. Turning that off solves my Winrar issue. Can you draw a conclusion from this?
(I still have to add exclusions in Malwarebytes for the NOD32 program files, per your original message)

From your previous postings, You have ESET as well.
Yes, thanks for looking into my issue thoroughly. Does it count that I paused NOD32 Antivirus and the issue is still there? I will do what you said, but since pausing NOD32 Antivirus changed nothing, I'm afraid those exclusions won't solve my issue.
Anyway, I'm glad you didn't say I'm stuck with this, so if there's a solution, I want to find it. I will do the mutual excluding you recommended and will get back here with feedback. Thank you.

When I click on an archive, I get a 2 second delay before Winrar shows the contents. This delay happens even if I only start Winrar from the desktop shortcut (without opening any archive).
If I shut down Malwarebytes, Winrar opens archives instantly.
Can I have both the speed and the protection, or am I stuck with the 2 second delay if I use Malwarebytes?
Specs: Winrar 6.24 (licensed), Malwarebytes 4.6.7 (licensed).
LE: I know the 2 second delay may not sound like much, but I need to open MANY arhives every day and it's getting annoying. Also, I tried the new Winrar 7.00 beta2 and the issue is still there.

I've used ESET Smart Security Premium and Malwarebytes (lifetime subscription) for years with no issues whatsoever.
Pretty interesting, thanks for sharing. I have a lifetime subscription as well.

More of of a chance of conflict or overlap causing issues with any Internet Security program.
I was afraid of that, that's why I posted here. I don't trust the default Defender, even if Malwarebytes works on top of that.
Thanks for your answer!

I'm using Malwarebytes Premium and ESET NOD32 Antivirus (latest versions). I've had them both for years, running in the systray (Win 7, Win 10) with no conflicts whatsoever.
I've opened this thread to ask you if upgrading to ESET Internet Security is safe or if there's any conflicts with Malwarebytes. Apart from the Antivirus, I'll get some added protection:
- Firewall
- Network Attack Protection
- Antispam
- Banking & Payment Protection
- Botnet Protection
- Parental Control
- Webcam Protection
- Network Inspector
- Anti-Theft
Here's the complete comparison.

Hopefully, there won't be any conflicts, but I'd like a confirmation from other users before upgrading.
Thanks! :)

So no-one can tell me if Malwarebytes works fine on Windows LTSC?
-
Thanks for your reply. I wouldn't be asking if I didn't have access to it. I can purchase it via a website that sells such activation keys legally in my country.
So my original question still stands.

Hey guys,
I want to upgrade my computer with Win 7 to Windows 10 LTSC. I've read a lot about this and I like that the LTSC version of Windows only gets security updates and no bloatware.
Does Malwarebytes work fine on LTSC? Should I go for LTSC or regular Win10 when it comes to security?
I should mention I have NOD32 Antivirus v14 running alongside Malwarebytes v4.3.
Thanks!

Hey @1PW
Thanks for the detailed reply. I guess I'll run the Compatibility Checker, although I think my system is compatible, then I'll find the time to upgrade to Windows 10 before the end of the year.
I read that my key for Win 7 Pro works for a clean install of Win 10, so that's an added bonus, because I prefer a clean install.
Cheers!

I'm still running Windows 7 Pro x64. I have Malwarebytes Premium + Eset NOD32 Antivirus running in my systray and up to date.
The question is: will I still be safe after 14 January 2020, when Microsoft ends support for Windows 7? Or should I update to Windows 10?
Thanks.

Hei Arthi, thanks for pointing that out.
I attached the logs, hopefully they'll prove useful.

I guess there's no answer on this.

Hey all,
I have a plugin for Internet Explorer that I need to run in order to watch legal video streams. Unfortunately, I can't run it while Malwarebytes is running because the browser crashes and Malwarebytes gives me the reply you can read in the attached file.
Can anyone explain how to exclude this addon so I can watch the video streams? I don't want to exclude IE altogether because I don't want to be exposed to malware.
Thanks!

Problem solved, @dcollins. Thank you so much. Here's the story:
Starting Firefox, IE 11 or Opera doesn't trigger any notifications from Malwarebytes.
I don't have any Chrome extensions that are set to load in incognito mode. I only have 2 extensions (I don't use Chrome much) and after disabling one of them, the notification went away!
Here's the problematic extension: VK Music Download - Save Vkontakte audio 6.0.7
I installed it a long time ago, before having Malwarebytes, and totally forgot about it. I would have noticed it right away because the notification comes up when you enable it in Chrome.
It's not allowed to start in incognito mode, but it seems that it does anyway. It's a dodgy plugin so I got rid of it.
Thank you all for your help!

Thank you, Firefox.
@dcollins Starting Chrome directly into incognito mode makes the same popup appear, yes.
As I said, if Chrome is already started and I start another instance of it (incognito or not), the popup does not appear.

Alright, sir, I have attached the logs. Thanks!
