  1. If I restore a previous image of my PC (taken with Acronis) , MBAM will come "Free version" and I have to fill the serial again, even though when the image was taken, MBAM was fully active /paid version? Strange, ah?
  2. The OP clearly specified that he would rather do without MWB than K9; He also specified that he "just bought" 10 MWB seats. If you would have "just bought" 10 MWB seats but you would rather go without MWB than K9, doesn't seem to be logical to return the incompatible product and ask for a refund????? Where do you see I am complaining? Next time I will apply for an authorization, first...
  3. read this: " I still don't use anti-virus software. Am I still nuts?" from cnet https://www.cnet.com/how-to/i-dont-use-anti-virus-software-am-i-nuts/ or this: "40 Reasons Why You DON’T Need An Antivirus" from Emsisoft blog http://blog.emsisoft.com/2014/12/08/40-reasons-why-you-dont-need-an-antivirus/ or this: "It might be time to stop using antivirus" from Ars Technica https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/01/antivirus-is-bad/
  4. I asked myself several times what is the primary target market of MBAM. 1. average user: will use the PC without an AV or with the "built in" MSE or Defender. At best , the average user will buy from retail store a well known antivirus , like Norton or Mcaffe but will never buy MBAM because is not aware about it. 2. above average user : (like me) will search AV Test, AV Comparatives, various forums and will settle with a performant antivirus like ESET, Avira, Kaspersky, etc (like me) and will use other means to protect against malwares, like UAC set on max, guest account , frequent backup , scheduled scan, etc. Being concerned of PC performance and being overconfident, the above average user will not buy MBAM (like me) 3. the expert user: will claim that is not running any antivirus and that is performing safe-hex; the expert user will not buy neither AV nor MBAM; at best will run a free antivirus (like Avira, Avast or BitDefender ) So, in the end , who is the potential target audience of MBAM? Thanks!
  5. I run the PUP provided on Virus Total , see here: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/dfa812def62c467c91e0b15860092d3d81a75ddd1801f042e3e6ac48f44317fd/analysis/1494458706/ The detection ratio is 1 to 61. In other words, only MBAM detects the item as PUP, everyone else (60 AV's!!!!) did not consider the item as a PUP. Something is fundamentally wrong here.
  6. Is not about being happy or unhappy. You are asking users to go to war (against viruses) with a gun (MBAM) which cannot be tested neither by the users nor by anybody else, and we have to rely on manufacturer specification, hoping that in a real situation the gun would fire.
  7. Will your smoke detector "beep" if you go with a cigar or other source of smoke close to it? If "yes", that's it is called "testing" Now, how can I "beep" MBAM?
  8. Yes, but on three different PC and over 3-4 years? So, no detection on eicar, no detection on anything else for 3 years, no test report from an independent entity , no.... Not very encouraging...
  9. Hi 1PW, Indeed , the provided answer seems to be logical, so I agree with the explanations. About the "actual MB3 performance will always be the very best test" remained to be proved; for now I have a very good looking program (MBAM v3) running on my PC , but no detection yet, in the last 3 years. (beside websites) Thanks!
  10. In other words, MBAM is not and is never going to be an antivirus replacement....
  11. ...but MBAM detects "mbae-test.exe" to prove that anti exploit is working , even though "mbae-test.exe" is not an exploit. There is a saying about "adding insult to injury..."
  12. We would post info relevant to v.3 , if any of this info would be available....
  13. And running Kaspersky AND MBAM3 AND SuperAntispyware??????? In all tests , Kaspersky has 100% detection rate.
  14. For example eicar , it is not detected by MBAM but it is detected by each and every AV on the market.
  15. Unfortunately, a simple statement will not make users comfortable...The general consensus, even on your forum is that MBAM cannot replace an AV, yet. And this was said by experienced people.
  16. Can you prove your statement with any test in AV Comparatives or AV Test?
  17. A simple example is MSE , where you have in "History" a button "Remove all" . Is that simple.
  18. How do I clean up Protection history? I have millions of item scanned, hundreds detected, all I want is to bring it back to zero. Thanks!
