This would be a vendor model, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called Update: Turns out my OS was Windows 8.0-something, not 8.1, so it couldn’t use the Win 10 installer. Updated to 8.1, and now the Win 10 installer works perfectly

Updated/deleted apps as requested. Attempted to upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10 using the Windows 10 install exe (MediaCreationTool22H2 exe), but the install failed. It gave me the error code 0x80072F8F- 0x20000 I searched this code on Microsoft Support and found an article recommending I download and run a .msi called MicrosoftEasyFix1044. I ran this msi, but I got a message reading ‘failed to process’ At this point, I contact Microsoft Support chat, and they tell me I have to buy a Windows 10 license. Once I have a license, their support staff would be able to help me make a clean install of Windows 10. I’m kinda bummed, bc I thought owning a Windows 8 license meant I could upgrade to Win 10 for free, including the win 10 license Seems like the issue is more or less resolved, unless there is further advice you have ^^

I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention to come off aggressive, I'm honestly asking for clarification. In order to reset Chrome Sync, I have to sign in to a gmail acct. Thing is, multiple gmail accts have been used on this computer, so I imagine they all need to be reset. If so, I could probably get away with resetting only one gmail acct Chrome Sync on this computer, and then running malwarebytes as instructed by the link you sent. I imagine I could then reset Chrome Sync on the other gmail accts on my phone/the other people's phone. Is my understanding of this correct? I'm not too familiar with this kind of stuff

I do not understand how this link relates to my topic. Would this relate to any gmail account that has been used on this desktop computer? So me, and anyone else who used this computer would need to undergo these steps on their gmail accounts to completely handle this issue? Additionally, could we reset our Chrome Syncs from our phones, rather than through the infected computer?

My system closed my applications and signed me out without me telling it to. This happened just a few minutes after someone on an online game threatened to hack my system, I don’t know if this is possible for them to do but I would like to make sure something isn’t wrong

Hello, Ran the EST scanner, took about 8 hours to finish, computer died halfway thru but after keeping it plugged in, the scan finally finished. There was no blue button available to select 'save log' but no threats were detected. I'll be sure to run a disc check soon, thank you for your help, is there some way I can donate to you?

Thank you for the fixlist, I disabled windows defender, but it turned itself back on during the frst scan. As a result, I can't guarantee that the fixlist did everything it was supposed to, but I did turn it back off mid-scan so I guess we'll see. I'll run the system for a couple hours, see if there's any marked improvements. As far as I know, svchost.exe has never crashed like that before. I do know that my hard drive is damaged however, and my system has had some corruption issues in the past. Is there something I can do to manage this issue of my system getting corrupt, long-term? Was downloading an open-source game from the mega website, but when the download was completed, my laptop got very slow. Couldn't click out of the web browser, or get ctrl+alt+del to bring up the security screen. I figured if there was a virus coming across my internet, I ought to shut it off asap. After internet had been disconnected for 1-2 minutes, laptop returned to normal, and game was not present in my download folder, assuming it crashed when the laptop got very slow. The system is sluggish, my non-admin account signs in automatically but maybe thats by design? I was on this forum previously and one of your kind technicians helped me, but I didnt follow up with them. The system started acting normally again, but now it seems worse than before. I have also been told on this forum, in the past while using a windows repair tool, that I have a bad driver. Could this be the cause of my low CPU, and odd system quirks? No 'Clean' log was created in adwcleaner when I scanned, it only provided a basic log when I chose to 'skip basic repair,' since you did not say whether or not a basic repair was necessary.
