  1. I saw a thread on removing Windows Safety Update from my Add/Remove programs, a thread that was started about a year ago. I have this in my Add/Remove list of programs. I followed the instructings from that old thread and downloaded HijackThis as Rubber Ducky Suggested. But then, when I followed the next set of instructions, Windows Safety Update was no longer in the list of programs in the Add/Remove window. When I went into HijackThis, pressed the configure button, went into Misc. Tools, and opened the Uninstall Manager, Windows Safety Update does not appear in that list. Right now, whenever I open Explorer, it changed my home page to http://secureinvites.com and I can't permanently change it back. Also, I get pop-ups now titeld Internet Explorer Alert, "Your Computer is infected with adware or spyware that displays adverstisements while you browse the internet. Would you like to download additional software to remove malware threats and protect your system? I presume this is just part of the trojan/spyware that's on my computer now. How can I get rid of it? Please help and give me terms that a technically illiterate guy can follow. Thanks.
