A "trial" version of Premium Avast Anti-virus was found on this computer in addition to Premium Malwarebytes. When Premium Malwarebytes scan was conducted, the program ran only 4 minutes and found nothing. Numerous attempts to install Premium Avast failed. Product key provided was for "Trial version of Avast Premium". Additionally, Chromium virus was detected while trying to access Chrome browser. Palikin was discovered as the search default. Attempts to add different search defaults were unsuccessful. Attempts were made to remove Chromium from registry using regedit. After removal of 7 occurences of Chromium from the registry, Chromium "pop-up" continued. A reset of Windows 10 was done and Avast Premium was NOT installed....only the FREE Avast was installed. Malwarebytes Premium was reinstalled. A full scan ran for approximately 40 minutes.....the "normal" Malwarebytes run time. Computer is fine now. 5 hours later.
