  1. Delete how? Right clicking on the name has option to cut, but Chrome says "not valid". Right-click on the radio button has no delete action available.
  2. Right. This time, only one,, a PUP called Trovi (which has not been there previously).... Why isn't Malwarebytes preventing these from joining my system? <-- that's a question asked in a neutral tone of voice: is there something about these nasties that makes them undiscoverable?
  3. Chrome has added every site that has a search capability. I've just added Don't Add Search Engines app to Chrome and am painfully removing all the Chrome-added ones manually, except sites such as Wikipedia.
  4. Can't get a screen shot - beyond the 2 default search engines (Google, Bing), there is a huge list. I tried a fairly powerful scrolling capture and ran out of memory. Chrome seems to have listed nearly every site I've regularly visited - and a few I've been to only once - as a "search engine."
  5. I've downloaded & installed the latest. However, I'm giving up. It takes 30+ minutes for every scan cycle to see if Yontoo is still there - plus, the Chrome settings do not look like anything in the linked 'how to' and I have no idea how to access Google Sync. I'll just use Edge. (Puzzled as to how Yontoo got into my system - why didn't Malwarebytes block it?)
  6. Sorry to be dim - I have MW premium. Your link says that my version, 3.2.2 is out of date. MWB itself says it is up to date. Assuming that 3.3 is really the right thing: When I click to update, I get a purchase page with multiple options. Do I have to purchase Premium again to download? Or better - which option on the download page should I use? The free version?
  7. Tried several scans, one after the other, but still have instances in Yontoo. How do I get rid of it? I see people attaching scan.txt, but cannot find it -- where is it?
  8. Aura, thanks, that seems to have done it. Telos, I'm hoping that Aura's fix did it. I don't have CCleaner...I see at the Piriform site that there's a free and a Pro version - will the free CCleaner do the trick? (I have Piriform's Recuva, which has saved a couple of USB thumbdrives in the past).
  9. The only Malwarebytes in my Settings > Apps & Features is 3.0.6.1469. Meanwhile, Task Manager shows several MWB - one mbam.exe for 2.3.173.0, one for mbamscheduler.exe 3.1.7.0, one for MBAMService.exe 3.1.0.415, mbamtray.exe 3.0.0.912. It would appear that I'm not actually running mbam.exe for 3.0.6....? So I looked on my Win 10 system disk and found that I have 2 mbam.exes in 2 program files directories. The mbam.exe in Program Files (x86) is v. 2.3.172.0, dated 3/10/2106. I do have another mbam.exe in Program Files (NOT x86, i.e., 64-bit programs) that is 3.0.0.912, dated 1/20/2017. I saw a message that MalwareBytes would delete a previous version (or was it "all previous versions") when I was installed the 3.0 version. Apparently, it did NOT delete the earlier one. Since the v.2 doesn't show up in Settings > Apps & Features, how do I uninstall it and all its ancillary stuff? Without screwing up my license and overall protection? More to the point, even if I can do that, how do I get MWB 3.0 to run?
  10. I have 2 Malware icons in my Windows 10 tray at the bottom of the screen. The tooltip for the v. 3.0.6 says "Updates: up to date." But the tooltip for 2.2.1.1043 has an exclamation point (!) on a red triangle and constantly opens a box telling me there is a newer version. How do I get rid of the icon for 2.2.1.1043?
