  1. I appreciate that Malwarebytes is blocking this domain. The popup occurs in pairs (I get two notices) about every 10 minutes while I have Chrome open. It does not matter what site I am logged into. It's annoying. I want MalwareBytes to continue to block the domain, but is there any way to "silence" the popup for it? I don't mind if it adds several hundred records per day to the log. I do have the Malwarebyte browser guard extension installed in chrome. along with Express VPN and LastPass. I have not tried the other browser (Edge) and I have not tried it yet on another computer.
  2. My credit card expired at the end of this month. I am using a new one. I've been to the web site and it says that my card is expired. I see NO place to update the information to the new number. Maybe I should have Malwarebytes send me paper bills and I can mail them a check.
  3. I had a whole bunch of desktop (not browser) shortcuts saved in my C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Sync Data\ folder. Starting on December 26th, Malwarebytes marked these as PUPs, so I quarantined them. Now when I open them, the open the browser to my home page instead of the saved links. I restored them, but they still show up as PUPs and they still do not open the original links but rater open the home page. Chrome did it's job an propagated all these now-defunct links to all my devices. I'm pretty sure that they are lost forever. I've restored some manually and given the growing list of PUPS the new links are also being detected as malware. In other words, I am being spammed and I fear that I will overlook a real threat. How do I stop Malwarebytes from doing this? For example, is there some way to tell MalwareBytes NOT to scan files in a specific folder?
  4. I poked around and something jogged my memory. Go to the System Tray. Quit Malwarebytes Go to services Start Malwarebte service This seems to work.
  5. I found the other thread - 29 PAGES of "ME TOO" and no solution! Why am I paying for a tool I cannot use. I went months with the Real Time Protection turned off because it caused a blue screen of death Bad Pool Header. I waited a couple of months, and then found that there was a tool do a clean install (not as a response to my thread) and did that 10 days ago. I had 10 days of protection and now I can't use it again. That's a really poor reliability rate. I am hoping that somebody reads this and has an answer. I read through the other 29 pages in the now-closed discussion. I hope I don't have to read though another 29 pages to get nowhere.
  6. It turned itself off and I get a warning on screen that I am not fully protected. I launch Malwarebytes and try to turn it on. It says Starting ... and hangs. Sigh. I suppose I got this same kind of message before, but can't find the thread (the search function on this forum isn't exactly Google-like). I hope this time when I fix it, I don't get the BSOD Bad Pool Header errors again.
  7. I finally got back to working this issue - actually I was working another issue about Bad Pool Header BSOD. The fix for that was to do a clean re-install of Malwarebytes. Fortunately, there is a tool for this at: https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean This link downloads the file: mb-clean-3.1.0.1002.exe. Run this program and answer yes to all the prompts - answer yes to reboot the computer and wait for about a minute after the reboot. Answer yes to the prompt to re-install Malwarebytes. It's totally automatic, and it even remembers your key! This seems to have fixed the BSOD issue and runs Malwarebytes on schedule even though the machine sleeps.
  8. I was finally able to get back to addressing this issue. It took a clean re-install of Malwarebytes.   9. The results of the log out at night are in. Every one of the scans ran in the middle of the night. I also tried something else. I went to power options and told my computer to never sleep. I left other applications open and Malwarebytes ran as scheduled. This still isn't my preferred solution, so I will also try the wakeup call routine when I get a chance to program it.
  10. By the way, although I am complaining about this particular issue, it's only a minor annoyance. I do believe very strongly in the product. I'm "tech support" for my relatives, and advise them to use the product and have used the product to clean out their computers. Also, I am impressed with the responsiveness of the community. For the past two days I have logged off the system before retiring for the evening instead of letting the computer "time out" and the scan went as scheduled instead of waiting for me to "wake up" my computer. I will continue this practice until Wednesday. If I have success with that, I will consider that to be a potential fix. I will report back on that. Then I will be out of town for a couple weeks, so it will be a while before I can move onto step two: use a "wake up" routine.
  11. I have several questions. If there is a latest version, how come I'm not notified of it? Doesn't the application do automatic updates? I will investigate the version i have and check out the update. I will also check out the update to the netgear adapter. There's a possibility that this could be the issue since my wife's computer does not have this problem and one of the differences is the adaptor. Scheduling the application to scan at a different time is just a work-around and not a solution. I turn my computer on at 7 in the evening and go to bed about 10, I get up in the morning and am at the computer until I go to work at 8 and then I shut the computer down. My schedule at the computer is erratic. I supposed I could run it manually when I leave the computer to go to bed but I can do that with the free version too. I tired an experiment based on how I do things at work. There, when I leave work, I reboot the computer and leave it at the login screen (this is Windows 7). At home, I just leave my work the way I have it, and let it "time out." Last night, I closed everything and logged out. It's an inconvenience, but it might have worked. I'm going to try it again for a week before I claim success. Typically, the scan reports are showing a run time of about 6:45 AM when I get to the machine after working out. Last night, the scan report was 3:10 AM. Of the two month's worth of logs I have, 4 scans prior to this morning happened as scheduled at 3:10 AM and not when I woke up the computer at about 6:45, so the program can do it. It's just not doing it consistently. Also, when I get time this weekend. I am going to set up a Windows Task to wake the computer before Malwarebytes is scheduled to run and to keep it open at least long enough to get Malwarebytes running. If this works, I will write up the details.
  12. What does unchecking this box do? Does it mean that if it misses a scan, it just doesn't do it? This is not an acceptable solution. I want a daily scan and I want it to run when it is supposed to and I don't want it using 75% of my CPU when I'm on the machine. Or is this asking too much? I want this thing to run like all the other scheduled tasks on the computer - like Microsoft upgrades, like Windows Defender, like any task I create. If Microsoft can figure out how to do this and I can figure out how to do this then why can't the programmers at Malwarebytes figure out how to do this? This isn't the my issue with Malwarebytes. I can't use the real-time web browsing protection because it is incompatible with Windows 10 and yields a blue screen of death (Bad Pool Error) as soon as I open a browser. So the solution for that is, "don't use it." Now you're telling me, "don't use the scheduled scan routine." OK, if I want to make sure it runs every day, I can do that manually just like with the free edition. The free edition doesn't give me real time web protection - well neither does the paid edition. Yes, I am pissed. Can somebody give me an answer I can use, or better still a product I can use?
  13. Taking 75% of the processor isn't low priority. Also I thought Malwarebytes would make use of the Windows Task Scheduler. I use the task scheduler at work to run some programs between midnight and 8 AM and other programs on Sunday evening after the computer was logged off for two days. If I can do this, Malwarebytes should be able to do it. My Microsoft updates come through in the middle of the night. I am not accepting this explanation.
  14. I have Malwarebytes paid edition and I schedule it to run at 3 AM. However when I log into my computer at 6 AM, it starts scanning and uses 75% of my resources. How can I get it to run at 3 AM or how can I assign it a priority that puts it way in the background. This happens on my computer and my wife's computer. It makes the login process very sluggish.
  15. Misery loves company - while I am not glad to hear that I am not the only person with this issue, I am glad for the discussion, and I am glad that it is known and being worked on. I will await the notice on my screen that Malwarebytes has detected a new update. Would you like to install it now? I assume that's the way I'll find out.
  16. @dcollins: thanks for the tip, but I think you'll have to add it to the list of things that don't work. As soon as I turned the protection back on, I got the BSOD. It looks like I will have to wait for the next update of Malwarebytes. When is that scheduled to happen?
  17. According to an article I read in How to Geek (still looking for it). Windows Defender is supposed to recognize the existence of another anti-virus program and take a back seat, although you can invoke it for a second opinion. Apparently this is a piece of Microsoft Propaganda. The advice from the Microsoft Community "just uninstall Malwarebytes." "That's good to hear. it could be a compatibility issue. For now, just uninstall Malwarebytes to prevent BSOD's until they give you a feedback. Win10 does not really like third-party security software. That's a sad thing. But for me, I only use Windows Defender. It's just a matter of being careful on what websites you visit and emails you open, etc.." That's like the lesson on safe sex. You don't need a condom, just be careful on your choice of partners and use the rhythm method.

I like the product and would like to use it to its full potential. There were 2 or 3 files that the FarBar Tool could not read.   20. I had this problem last year and it took several months to track down. It turns out that Microsoft Windows Defender and Malwarebytes real time protection don't play well together. The solution: turn off Malwarebytes real time protection. A couple of months ago, I upgraded to Malwarebytes 3.0. The upgrade process turned on the real time protection. And for several months, it worked just fine. Then one morning about two weeks ago. I woke my computer up, went to the same web page I was viewing the night before and immediately got the BSOD. After the reboot, I got the BSOD almost as soon as I touched any of my browsers. So I am now running Malwarebytes with the real time protection and no more BSOD. What is going on and how can I get the protection I am paying for?

With the older version of Malwarebytes, I had to turn off real time protection because the incompatibility between MWB and Windows Defender (Window 10) was causing repeated BSOD Bad Pool Errors. I upgraded to 3.0 about two months ago. Everything ran fine for two whole months. This morning I had 2 BSOD Bad Pool Errors within minutes of launching my browser. I've turned off my real time protection in hopes that I can use my computer. Why is this happening? What is the fix? And why am I paying for protection I can't use?
  22. FYI - going to the system tray and quitting Malwarebytes off and turning it back on also worked for me. Rebooting the computer prior didn't. It seems like something gets "toggled" in this process. I didn't do anything else.
