  1. I have unticked scan rootkits and will scan for rootkits once in a while. I am not sure if there were any slowdowns. I do know a couple years back I had a horrific malware which unclicked the current window every few seconds and after reinstalling windows and re-mounting a drive on which the malware was saved, it would start unclicking again. There was not a single anti-virus or anti-malware that could help me. Nothing was able to detect it. Looking back, that could have been due to conflicts. Hence I have added those files to Nortons SONAR, auto protect, download intelligence and on demand scanner. I was not sure which Norton Security files I should add to Malwarebytes' exception list. I contacted support and the guy was practically useless by saying that's not necessary. By the end of the exchange, he honestly told me he had no idea what each executable did. After this experience, I might switch to a different AV suite after my subscription. Anyways, I started a scan and found NS.exe in one of the folders was using CPU resources. So I added NS.exe to Malwarebytes' exception list. Does anyone know if there are any others I should add? I have removed the folder exceptions as well.
  2. ohhh so that's why Malwarebytes takes HOURS. Thanks!!! Thanks again! I thought it might be a security risk but did it anyways. Problem was Nortons .exes are not located in the root/ first folder in the Program Files directory. I'll just look for them manually
  3. I am using Malwarebytes 3.0 Premium and Norton Security 22.8.1.14 Both software are running with standard real-time features, in addition to the fact that Malwarebytes has been manually set by me to scan for rootkits. Why scanning for rootkits is not enabled by default, I don't know. Anyways, which files and folders in Malwarebytes and Norton Security should I set for exclusion? I want to set the Norton Security program to be excluded from Malwarebytes scans and the Malwarebytes program to be excluded from all Norton Security scans. So far, the only Norton folder set for exclusion in Malwarebytes is C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton Security And no Malwarebytes files or folders have as of yet been excluded from Norton scans.
