  1. LPM_Molly........... I feel your pain. I was pulling my hair out over this fiasco and why I ever decided to download the newest version package is beyond me. I've learned my lesson. I'm not trusting ANYTHING anymore and sticking with what works. If they pull or discontinue the old programs.......I'll find another anti malware vendor like Zemana. I've heard good thing about them.
  2. So far, I've Not heard or read anything about solutions to those of us experiencing problems.
  3. After you re-install the Old Version, shut down, re-start and see what happens. I think you'll be happy. I know I am. BTW, I decided NOT to enable any of the Malwarebytes taskbar icons to show up next to my clock. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
  4. I strongly suggest you do a complete clean removal of the 3.0 FIRST. It's called mbam-clean.exe and I found the link to it in a post in this forum by Malwarebytes. under the heading "MBAM Clean Removal Process" forum thread Started by AdvancedSetup, on February 6, 2013 Once you remove the new version, I strongly suggest you Shut down and restart your computer and only Then go back and RE-INSTALL the old version. That 3.0 version stays in your program files(86) and I found it interfered with the old version. Once I completely got rid of the new version and all it's files the old version runs flawlessly and isn't screwing up my computer anymore
  5. I don't blame you........ I was iffy about re-doing it too. But I'm on day #2 now running the old version and all is well. Shutting down in 21 seconds instead of 2 3/4 minutes and no more white screens or programs hanging or problems with task manager not working. Like you.........I'm NOT installing the new version from Malwarebytes for a good long time. I learned my lesson.
  6. JohnBurns. I did a clean uninstall of Malwarebytes 3.05 by running their removal tool. Shut down the computer and did that twice. Then I UNINSTALLED via my control panel my OLD Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit paid edition. Then Shut down my computer twice. Then downloaded the OLD Malwarebytes FREE version than plugged in my License and Key numbers ( be sure you HAVE yours before you erase everything) AND then turned the computer off and on twice. When I found all was well with the OLD VERSION AND MY COMPUTER WAS BACK TO RUNNING PERFECTLY, I went and re-downloaded the last version of Anti-Exploit Premium ( ends in 1294) and did the off and on ritual of the computer. BINGO........my Windows 7 64 bit Professional with Microsoft Security Essentials as an anti-virus is running PERFECTLY AGAIN WITH THE OLD STUFF re-loaded. I made sure the 3.0 folder was gone ( c:/ program files(86) /malwarebytes) from my computer too. The ONLY PLACE I see see reference to the 3.0 is on my taskbar under "Customize icons" it shows " malwarebytes 3.0 mbamtray.exe." but I cant find that file in my computer doing a routine search.
  7. Thanks for the link and download. The MBAE I had downloaded was the older version one ending in 1291. Will give it a try and see if that resolves some issues. I sure do hope you can get the issues resolved involving version of 3.05 of Malwarebytes. But it was an absolutely nightmare for me and my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit running MSE anti virus. I was literally having heart attacks as it was trashing programs, IE11, Taskbar Manager, Shut down......... and the list goes on
  8. I did a clean install of the old MALWAREBYTES Premium. Experienced No problems. Then I did a clean re-install of Anti-Exploit. Logged off, restarted etc. Now I'm getting pop that says "Malwarebytes Anti Exploit Service" is taking too long to start...........reboot computer. So I give up. I'm uninstalling the Anti Exploit and leaving it off until they can figure out what's going on. It's not worth the hassle
  9. Now having issues with the Old Anti Exploit I re-installed........... Keep getting pop ups saying it's taking "Anti-Exploit service is taking too long to start" and to reboot which I've done 3 times now. Cant open the program either in IE. I did an malwarebytes clean "erase" and reinstall and haven't had any issues with that. So, I'm uninstalling Anti Exploit and leaving it off.
  10. @ TempLost............ The Question is........ why didn't I have to "add" these "Exclusions" to MSE with the older versions??? I'm not comfortable about disabling active protection of my MSE either. I'll just stick with the old version until they get the mess resolved.
  11. I had to uninstall the old Anti Exploit. The Taskbar icon doesn't display, and the Desktop icon wont open....and 15 minutes later I get pop up's saying it's not responding. I'm sure I have something left over in some folder even though I deleted the 3.0 series that included MBAE. At least the old version of MB's icon is coming up on the task bar.......the new version did a couple times then quit being displayed altogether. I'm not computer savvy like most others here and cant articulate all the terms and descriptions of what's happening to me. All I know is that the 3.0++ was a mistake for me. I hope they can get it figured out. And unlike others here, I can't handle glitches on my computer all that well.
  12. Just re-installed the old Mbam and about to do the same with the Anti Exploit. I agree with your assessment as well. Next time, I'm leaving well enough alone until I'm SURE others running what I am have no problems. Thanks!
  13. I'm in the same boat your are mecanicogolf. Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with MSE. I finally got fed up and uninstalled 3.05. Now my computer shuts down in 21 seconds. I should have NEVER INSTALLED THE NEWEST 3.0, 3.04 OR 3.05 version. Like you, I'm not about to delete MSE either at this point.
  14. BTW, my Taskbar "M" would sometimes show up but 95% of the time it never did......... even though it's marked to "show". Then trying to "open" Malwarebytes via desktop icon would cause my computer to freeze and the "run" spinning blue circle would never stop and the program would never open. When that happens, you cant even open the "Task Manager"......... and trying to " shut down" hangs and hangs and hangs. It's one HORRIBLE MESS.
