Hello @Kins44
Out latest updated build 3.4.5 has fixes towards performance issues.
Can you please try the latest build and let us know if you are still seeing the issue ?
Latest build can be downloaded from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb3
Thank you
Can't right now. It's actually my wifes computer. When I have the chance I'll let you know. I actually uninstalled and reinstalled it a few days ago because when I went to click Scan now, it would switch to the screen it normally scans on and then just freeze. The pc was fine, it's malwarebytes wouldn't scan at all. Then last night all of a sudden CPU usage was 100% and I only had 1GB of available ram. So the same thing as the issue before but not quite as bad because I didn't get an "out of memory" error this time.
-
I had the same issue pop up last night as before with the super high cpu and ram usage....Think I'm gonna uninstall it for a while and see how the pc runs.

My wife has this happening again on the newest version.

The only "open" false positive is >>> PUP.Optional.DriverDoc, [Key] - HKLM\SOFTWARE\MimarSinan <<<
Registry cleaners are not recommended by Microsoft at all: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2563254/microsoft-support-policy-for-the-use-of-registry-cleaning-utilities
Moreover, an advantage of those cleaners is not verifiable... not to mention a fake one.
The folders and software keys "Raxco" like reported by the user LesColleen and you are not detected any longer (tested by myself).
I get that Microsoft doesn't recommend Registry cleaners but that doesn't mean people aren't going to use those types of applications. Microsoft also likes to spy on their customers.

I've alrady asked fr33tux to exclude "MimarSinan" from database a few days ago.
Will contact him again regarding this.
Thanks!
@Kins44:
PerfectRegistry is no FP by Malwarebytes.
You can find more information here:

https://www.malwarebytes.com/pup/
Yes it is a false positive in that I didn't have that program on the computer that I ran Adwcleaner on. Like I said it's also a legitimate program from Raxco. Like I said before a "high detection rate" means little to nothing when the majority of detection's are false positives. Removing something that's "Potentially unwanted" doesn't help things, it just makes matters worse especially because no one knows the potential. The program "might be" unwanted, but you really have no clue, it's all basically a guess. A better guess that has more potential of being true is that end users don't want you making decisions for them about what applications they want on their computers.
-
It's not a virus or malware. It's related to InstallAware. If you've installed anything on your computer, you likely have that false detection. Malwarebytes is just full of false positives lately. I guess more detection's make people feel safe though.
-
All these false positives from Malwarbytes lately. It used to be a good program...There is a fine line between a "high detection rate" and a good anti-malware application. Just because your programs detect a lot of programs doesn't make it better than other anti-malware programs. All these false positives and this too!. Maybe it's time for a revamp or rewrite of the software.
-
Perfect Registry is also a legitimate program from Raxco.
-
Also saw MimarSinan registry key was detected and that's definitely not malware.
-
Just ran the new version of this and it shows false positives for any Raxco software. I have Pefect Disk 14 pro and the scan reports anything related to "Raxco" to be a PUP.

Yes it is false positive. And it last forever, never been removed from Adwcleaner even tho people reported it many times. And to staff memebers. There is no need to share log files, you can recreate this false positive alert by creating file folder \AppData\Local\PackageAware
Edit: I did it for you, here you go - log file.
Exactly this.
-
Is there a false positive section that I missed?. Maybe I could have a moderator move this to the false positive section?
-
Ran Adwcleaner, it detected a folder named package aware as an infection. It's clearly not.
https://www.installaware.com/flashhelp/packageaware.htm
When you install driver software it usually leaves behind that folder. This is a false positive.
The folder will be in C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Local
-
Ok how do I white list it then?. There is no indication that it is a PUP or actual malware.....So keeping it just doesn't seem like the right idea. You could potentially cause a lot of problems with users computers. "Potentially Unwanted" means that a lot of people want this software, and it's not malware at all. Really it's just a false positive and lots of false positives doesn't make your anti-malware better, but worse.

Hmmmm....Just seems like a lot of bias opinions.

Just found out about this. I have MBAM lifetime license and tried to update via the download link in the thread about it. I go the same "Runtime Error (at 14:160): External exception E06D7363" which apparently happens when you have an older or newest version of MBAM already installed. So I'll have to uninstall and try again. Maybe I'll wait a week or 2 though because it seems like it's got a ton of problems. Like the other guy in this thread said, sounds like it's still a beta version....
-
Or the database was updated and not the actual program or software....Sorry it's been a very long day for me.
-
Oh ok, I guess it was, because I just scanned again and it didn't find anything. Thanks for your help!.
